Hey is there a deadline for submission and what songs are you looking for right now? If theres going to be a theme I dont know If I'll have one that will fit but I'm on board depending on the theme. Proceeds to charity sounds like a good idea although maybe the BandAmp site should at least get a cut. It is the site that makes this possible and fun for all of us. The only concern I have with the charity thing is which of the thousands of charities should get the money. If it's given to some "poverty in Africa" kind of thing I'm not sure if it would do any "good". Chances are it's taken by some local warlord to finance his own brand of genocide. After all the millions that have been sent to Africa or the 3rd world over the decades nothing much has changed. People are still killing, starving and dying. The change in these places needs to come from within. Maybe donation to some kind of Music in Schools program like "Save the Music" might be more appropriate coming from a BandAmp Compilation CD..........SkunkApe

There isn't a deadline to submit songs, you can just shoot me a PM and let me know which songs you would like to be included. I sort of already chose 2 for you (its on page 4), but that can be changed if you want it to. As of right now, there's no overall theme or specific genre - but so far there seems to be a nice mix of rock/acoustic music, so I think your tracks would fit just fine. I really actually agree with you on the topic of African charities, and something like "Save the Music" sounds most appropriate (this is a music site after all!). As of right now, there isn't an active 'owner' of BandAMP that I know of, so I'm not sure where some of the profits would go to - although that does sound like a lovely idea. I'm sure giving some of the musicians involved a 'cut' would also work somehow, but that all depends how much is made in the long run.
I think a big 'opener' featuring some of the musicians that are featured on the album would be a good idea - but that depends on how busy everyone is (so that was just an idea I had right now).

I'm going to wait until Friday to see if I get a response from some people about their songs. After that, we can get started on compiling tracklist ideas - and then go ahead and take time to choose the 'best' one (not all at the same time). Right now we have 25 songs, a little over Denis' 15 song estimation. So, if we don't get any more adds, it'll be fine because we currently have plenty (great) songs to choose from.

"Stage 1.5"

Well, first off I'm really proud to see that we've gotten this far. Lets keep it up, and make this happen!

So now on to the next step, If anybody has any tracklist ideas, or any thoughts on what should stay/go feel free to post. 12-15 songs would be cool, but feel free to be creative, and make it what you want it to be! To anybody that still wants to submit songs, you're still able to. I'll keep everybody updated if anything new happens.
