what about the genres thing?
I was looking for my classification and i don't have one
and the noodle genre doesn't exist.
Maybe we need votes to be considerated in a genre, but anyway, inclusive i don't know how my songs sound
I ask for justice Mud, you can do everything (at least at the amp)
and yes you are the Lord and we aprecciate you and blah, blah, blah...
Great job man!

Mud, where do I clean the FF cookies?

Go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS, then PRIVACY, then choose the tab for CACHE, and clear that first... The cookies you may not need to clear... but the cache for sure...

Thanks!
Now it's working perfectly!

And we do have a draft to a guide to critiquing somewhere in the Ideas and Feedback forum, in the thread "Help Wanted". At least I remember writing something... It could use a revision, and it wasn't completely finished, having to introduction and no end, but I guess that shouldn't be too much work.
Yeah, that would be totally something we could use. We could put it on the Audio Review pages... Perhaps floating to the right of the "Does this song not follow the Rules? Please Report Abuse…" text... Do you think you could make the revisions you alluded to?

The chat font could be bigger
The sent messages and the receive messages are both in my receive mailbox
I changed the font in the chat to Arial, so now should be easier to read.
I was wondering what looked strange about the mailbox. I knew there was something wrong with the import. Yeah, it's a bit funky. But can't clean it up now, and not really a big deal. Better than loosing a bunch of emails. I know exactly what went wrong in the import, but too late now. Rest assured mailing system seems to work fine, it's just the import that was funky.

Genre's was just something I did at the last minute before launching this new version. Puppet got it right when he said they were just the ID3 tags off MP3 songs in the BandAMP archive. Right now the genre's section is not being updated dynamically. In the future I would like to allow you guys to "tag" the mp3s, as you suggest. I've got a good idea for how the system would work, just needs to be implemented (which will take time).

Yes, I'll manage that, I'll get to it asap later today
I am not happy with the genre thing. Where can I sort my songs into a specific genre? or who decides in which genre is my song in?
I think the Audio Review is going to stay the same. Searching by genre will be completely optional - like it is already! If you check the "browse -> genres" section you will see that whether a genre works or not all depends on the information given by the artist themselves... If they are bothered enough to fill in the "genre" field in the ID3tags when they put their music to mp3.
Having extra tags put there by reviewers, ... I foresee a problem there, members may come up with associations that the original artist does not especially agrees with. Some tags may become just rude... Taggin someone's music "crap art" for instance... or "unlistenable" I think it's an interesting idea, but then there should be an option to the artists on their music page to "allow tags" or not. I think that would be only fair?

I'm not sure why but when you click on the pictures in my album they are way to big now. I had resized them for the other version. Do I need to resize them again?
I'll take a look into this. However, the photo's should be the same size they always were. They just appear bigger, because they are not being "resized" as you say. All I was doing was resizing them via HTML, so basically, you would be downloading a HUGE image, and then just see it really small... but it still would take a long time to download.
SO, it would be better for you to size them the way you want. However, I may write a script to automatically resize all the images to something less than 1024pixles or something. I put it on my todo list anyways.
And another one |
After a bit of a break from reviewing songs I went to do my usual today, which is:
go to >browse > archive, then
double click on "added" to have the list sorted with the most recent posts first.
This works fine until I click on to the next page. Then the sort function really screws up, and it shows everything by....... erm, well, by an indeterminate method of sorting!
From then on, none of the sort keys work.
I've checked to see if this happens with any of the other sort functions, and it does. The only page that the sort features work on is the first.

Thanks for reporting Was an easy fix, just a problem with the httpd.conf
Just added the new star system. It still needs to be upgraded on the backend, but you can now at least vote up to an accuracy of 10%. However, will get that down to 1% once I convert the column to a floating point unit. Going to go to yoga now, but perhaps will do that later tonight. Might just work on other bugs though.
EDIT: should work fine now with 1% increments.
