actually, i think that's the same kind that i just posted a picture for, jstu a different angle
two plugs on one end and only one on the other i believe. the cable needs to run from two ports on the mixer and merge into a single plug for the computer input

my appologies TLS - you must have posted that whilst i was writing my post, and then i added the picture without rechecking.
i concede - you definately beat me!!
i concede - you definately beat me!!
hehe, i must tread lightly. you are suggesting that i beat the God of Ampism
well, i gave you a chance ...
hehe, now that we've shot pictures all over the thread.. maybe we should let CC answer us at some point. except.. now she's logged off
lol
hell - i still enjoyed finding them! by the way, TLS, ive just had a listen to your songs. really like them. ive posted comments if your interested.
i tend to like listening to all the songs by an artist in one go ... rather then just picking songs from the current battle at random. you kinda get a better feel for the artist.

i appreciate it! i posted a reponse on "i hated the rain" about it. i'm in the process of redoing the vocals for both that one and Acute Paranoia. hopefully they'll be better off sometime this next week!
brilliant stuff. really good material there mate .
anyway, im off the bed (and im kinda conscious of the fact that we've turned most of bandamp's forum into a private chat! LOL!)
speak tomorrow ... maybe we'll know who won the battle by then. BTW, has anyone heard from entheon today?

oh, and I guarantee I covered all the standard cabling types... my guess is he's just confused on what he actually has vs. what he actually needs. Either that or alien plugs are different, but I doubt it.
Creative: you need to tell us:
1) What kind model make and manufacturer computer you have
2) What kind model make and manufacturer sound card you have
3) What kind model make and manufacturer mixer you have
THEN and only then can we TRULY figure out what you need, because you obviously don't know

I prefer Native Instrument's Guitar Rig to Amplitube for many sounds. Amplitube good for bass, though, and a few of the sounds are quite cool. Also has alot lower CPU usage.
I like logic too but I find it unwieldy compared to Cubase SX (which rapes). Cakewalk Sonar isn't bad, either.
I'll try and summarise the cables you need to go from mixer --> PC.
If you are going from the white / red outputs on the mixer into a standard soundcard line-in then you need 'twin phono to stereo mini jack' (3.5mm headphones jack). They will know what you mean. And yes, this is essentially the same as the TV one minus the yellow which contains the picture information.

If you are going from the L/R 'guitar jack' outputs then you need 'twin mono 1/4" -to-stereo mini jack' (ie 3.5mm jack). You may find it easier to get a cable that has the stereo plug as a full-size 1/4" jack and then use a small adapter to convert between this and the smaller 3.5mm mini jack input on your soundcard.

and then the adapter

If you have a recording soundcard with a full 1/4" input then you will need the reverse adapter for the first option.
Hope this helps!

Yes, I can be daft at times, when in doubt read the directions. It was the last cable you showed. Thanks for helping out, guys.
Enth- "oh, and I guarantee I covered all the standard cabling types" if you didn't, can I get my money back? and yes I read your fine posts, I must have overlooked it. I knew to buy a mixer in the first place from your tutorials, see your prophecies do not fall on deaf ears.
The audio tape out on the mixer is designed to connect to a computer sound card input.
Still not sure what the L/R main out is, but I must cross that bridge later. So much info to get around.
