YAY

It'll probably be this weekend when I first get to work on my own video bits.

At everyone: the most important thing when you record anything is trying to make the audio as noise free as possible. Don't worry about equalization or compression, everything can be fixed but hum, buzz and noise cannot be removed from recorded audio.

Also, unless you're going for a very specific sound please stay away from using reverberation and excessive modulation (chorus/flanging). You are ofcourse free to make specific sounds but keep in mind the editors are going to have to mix it in with the rest.

Guitar distortions are ofcourse all fine!

Cheers and have loads of fun all!

BTW Marino, ace job on the tracks!

Where do you want the video's sent?
We also need a separate audio track, also quite important, it's going to by so much easier if as well as recording the song on your recording equipment, record on the video too, this will make the editing much easier.

Good call, I suppose people should use services such as Rapidshare for file hosting.. The editors can download the files from there. There is a 200MB upload limit to Rapidshare though, but I'm sure that's quite enough for a good quality video track.

As for seperate audio track: Yes, that will be more convenient, although (speaking for myself) I can easily seperate video from audio within the video editor, but I agree that a seperate track saves some trouble.

Marino buddy,
I know you want us to film the entire song, but can I ask..... do you need it in any special format? Xvid? Avi? Mpeg? WMV?    the reason I'm asking is because if, say everyone films it in AVI Divx or Xvid format or even MOV format (which most cameras render to) well that will be huge  a 3 minute MOV clip could be as large as 100 MBs, whereas if it were converted to an MPeg or a WMv   Denis or whomever is  doing the film editing would save alot of time.  Also if it is rendered into a MOV  it will have to be converted eventually anyways.
 *Just something to think about.

MPEG4 is pretty good and doesn't take much spacespace, AVI is good for audio, yeah it makes up a big file.
I suppose just do the best you can, try and get the best quality you can get on your equipment.

Yes.. the idea certainly is great! The season's not right though, people are going to be on holiday and the weather's far too inviting to play around with cameras and video software indoors.. No way! Personally I've gotten as far as recording lead vox and a video to come with it, but I am far from happy with how I look or sound.. More like a clown than anything else, and I happen to truly despise clowns.

So, I am letting this "rest" for now, going over the mental exercises instead until I reach a new "eureka" moment (hopefully on a rainy day) and then give it another shot.

Video editing
Hi, I haven't been here for a long time, but this project seems quite interesting, though I'm not able to contribute musically I'd like to help with the video editing

i like the structure of the song. besides it is a clever idea to user organ and drum.
the piece is a cinematic interlude.

By chance it happens that I have a drum kit, a keyboard and my guitar here at home, so I guess I'll take a shot to all of them (I'm not a great drummer or keyboard player but I can do something descent).
The only problem would be the recording quality. If you estimate is too bad just don't put it in the video.
See you soon!

Dead is a big word.
I know Denis still wants to do his vid bits and I know the lyrics inside out, but still need to record to this track of Marinos.
We had twins about 2 months ago and I'm self employed, if I'm not working I'm looking after children (we have 4) and I'm doing an on-line course.......and I do try to check out the amp daily......so that's my excuse!
