Learning FL Studio
*
Slowing, I'm getting the hang of FL Studio -- at least at a level I can expect at this point.  Wanted to post this little ditty where I experimented with Piano Roll, Chops, and some effects.  I've learned the program enough where I can use it with my live guitar tracks.  I'm forcing myself to stick to timing (measure by measure; bar by bar) and it is definitely improving my production quality.  Hope you like this little sample of sezWho's foray into (kinda) techno.

Cheers,
Rick

Which version of FL-studio?

I suggest checking out FPC and using it rather than the samplers for the drums.

Try using flanger and phaser in moderation. Also, the multiband compressor is your friend.

Pagan, Marino, and theotherguy,

Thanks for your comments.

Otherguy:  I am using FL Studio 7.  I am experimenting with FPC and I like it, I think I used some FPC patterns in this recording.  In my current project I am using FPC exclusively and we'll see how that develops.  Your comment on flanger and phaser is noted.  Tell me more about the multiband compressor, I have not applied or used it.

Nice start!  It's true, sticking to bars and blocks is a good way to do things, keeps everything in time, welcome to the wonderful world of electronic production, i'd say get used to FL Slicer, slicing for the win.

I'll check into it FL Slicer, thanks Devo.  What does "slicing for the win" mean?

Im hearing some good things here.  Nice work man!  Some of your levels are off..but that is a mix thing.  I would focus on learning the program first.  Good one, man! Keep it up.
