For some reason the bass sounds off time to me..maybe its just me... the recording is really very heavy in the begining...I think the bass is way to loud Fish...the flow is ok.....are you going to build on this ?

I like the basis for this, and ditto flyer's comment; "are you going to build on this".  I think you could go a lot of different ways from here.  Kind of feels like a piece you would hear in the theatre actually.

Kobeshi

btw - its Eine Kleine     You pronounce the second letter of 'ei/ie' combos in german.

Eine Kleine bass riff thanx for comments
thanx fer comments guys ............... yes flier the bass is a bit loud in the mix.... I agree... but it is intentional in order that the movement of the bass line is heard throughout...

The harmony as well is a bit challenging in places but I started hearing some wierd harmonic reflections over a couple of bars so I let it stay..........

And yes the quantise moves around a bit ....... but I quite liked that too...doesnt sound like a machine
Its a Ground Bass ............... constant repetition of bass line with layers over the top.......

Not one for a battle ............... but a bit different

Theatre ......... yes Please!!!!

Develop???? Well I could as its starting to sound Luscious in places 1:09
And thanks Kobeshi I changed the Spelling

off 2 buy a hearing aid........haha

What was a bizarre piece of music.
That bass is lovely.
There must be something wrong with our speakers Flyer.
It's all very quick, there's a whole song within it yet.

Oh Yes difinatly for the theartre.

When I first started hearing it, I was thinking of 'Queen', and old Freddie, about to blast out some vox.

This piece sounds complete to me as it is. However, if you know any Freddie Mercury impesonators,
it would be nice.

This is a lovely piece, very creative, in fact it feels a bit Christmasy too

Well done me 'ol china.

High Rate [It's good enough for the battle]

I must say I was a liitle unimpressed when i first heard it with no orchestration. Now, however, It sounds as if you were on the road to a great tune, indeed aimed at theatre! I esspecially fancy the way in which you pushed the flutes and horns - bravo, my friend. I have one favour to ask of you, though - do not add any FL disco drum loops to it, plesase. it will spoil the whole thing. So far, I love it!

hmmm
Makes me think of Cathedral Ensemble  preforming
a more neo-modern peice then they normally would..  As
an attempt to persuade the Vicar to allow newer music
for services... as a prelude to a climatic movement that
would enhance the vicar's message and bring the spirit
in very strong.

just how it made me feel first time hearing it and all..

re: Eine Kleine bass riff
WOW..................I Just slip into bishops robes...........haha.....well no doubt about it i will take this quasi-noodle further.............leave the FL behind me ....(as per jbp suggestion) and see what orchestra and my imagination brings...........
perhaps a new Crossing the States type thing
I really like the idea of creating a 'suite' (collection) of ideas and bringing them together into a bigger piece......more than just a song..... a collection of songs and soundscapes.......
gives me a chance to display a series of emotions and ideas through my music
my first attempt at this is here: goto:

if u havent heard this prepare for a 12 minute journey.............and give it a listen to the end
If u have then wish me luck on my next journey................

IT STARTS HERE..........WITH THIS INTRO..................

Thanx the fish

Nice! Very cool bass riff a la Richard Bona. In fact the whole peice reminds me of him.

Pretty dire harmonic clash at 0:41 and 0:49. I can see what your intentions were, to resolve the dissonance in the next chords and that works to a degree but those two chords sound very ugly with the bass line.

1:07 you use the same method of creating a suspension and resolving it and it works well this time. Sounds very good. I think its just those two chords at 0:41 and 0:49 which were ill chosen.

In general it has a great feel which would be improved by better string synths/samples. The current ones are a little cold and aritificial but the actual composition is nice to listen to with the sole exception of the two chords mentioned above.

Good stuff!

I dont know the word for it, but the bass seemed to be resonating, or vibrating too much. Like when te bass on an amp is cranked too loud.
