film score #1
*
I asked if I could borrow a short passage from a classical piece (about 2 to 3 measures) change it and send it in for film score audition and they said yes. So this is the start of my first one. The song is mine except for the 2/3 measure repeated part on the strings and that is changed from the original. I actually played all the key parts on this one real time (not step record).  I have more parts but I'll put them in at a later date.

Sounds like Egyptian tomb, like the airy synth sound, nice echoes, nice little effects in there.
I like how you're sustaining the bassline. Very ambient. One thing I would like to try is music for movies or TV, I admire this, it works well. Like to hear it with all the parts combined  . Nice slow finish. And this is your first, as in planning to do more? Excellent!

i vote for sure, success at writing under a different genre, well done.

Cheers

       Love the bass.....

I haven't quite gotten the hang of midi and keys yet... though I did add some to a ouple songs of mine.. I really went minimalist, this is amazing... really well done....

ok I'll wait with a full comment then.

anyway so far I agree it has a mystical arabic atmosphere which is very good. the sounds are unfortunately clearly too "midi"... maybe go a little bit more in the synth direction with them? in that way they will still be unreal instruments but not as clearly an attempt to sound like real ones. which will make it more pleasant to ears and easier to digest.

yeah I agree about the midi, unfortunately I only have my casio wk 1500 for sound at this time, I played all the parts on this one I did not use the midi sequencer. I wanted to simulate the "real" instruments as best as I could except for the main string synth.  Part of the reason is you have to send in the sheet music so it can be played by them., it's for film score, not demo.

I agree with the synth thing. Since I have posted this I added some other sounds, and used a ring mod for some sounds.

Horror Suspense?
Sounds kind of spooky.
WHat kind of film is this?
suggest that when you record it for the final that you use real strings.
nothing like live musicians

well huh
I didn't use this piece for the audition. I had been working on  a simple 12 tone piece, that was kinda of a split 6 measures covering half and second 6 measures covering the other half. It came out real cool.
