Blinder
*
Work in progress.

Lyrics are something like:

When I see bearded men worry the Lego factory,
I say "well done lads, that smells like victory"
When a bishops toilet stinks of celebrity
I say "well done lads, that makes great tv"

You've played another blinder, my friend, once again.  Etc...

Vocals are rough, more scratches and guides for something better and to ensure I don't forget what the vocal melody is.  Anyway, get the red marker out

Interesting rough draft.  I really liked the clean guitar in the introduction.  The synth kind of drowned them out though.  I liked the different stages in the song, but perhaps the transitions between them could be smoother.  For instance, at around 1:30, I thought that the song had ended and started over.

Did you use compression on the overall mix?  On the heavy parts (the chorus, I believe) the volume seems to fade rapidly in and out with the bass drum.  I just wonder if it isn't, maybe, overly-compressed?

Overall, it is ecclectic and unique.  Which is good, IMO.  I'd just smooth out some of the rough spots between changes.  Thanks!

I used a custom compression that I'd used on that "Bleed For Life" tune that I'd produced a while back, without it the vocals were crashing all over the gaff which wasn't what I was after, but like I say, it's as rough as badgers nads at the moment, needs to be shorn in a few places and mixed properly and the vocals recorded on a mic as opposed to headphones through the mic jack

yeaH... yeah... oh yeah...

well um too bad it distorts so horribly, but it sounds like a kicking song.

a heavier kind of muse... good thing

well too bad about the production, which is really just a few levels set too high - even still it seriously rocks... so keep it up

Cheers!
Well get putting vocals on it!    Aye, 'tis rather unfinished, like a sketch for a song.

Yeah, it's got something, but the power lead on my laptop is banjaxed so I can't edit properly else the whole powerbook freezes up so it's a minimum of guitar tracks recorded through the headphones or built-in mic with the best levels I can get before GarageBand crashes on me.  Bummer

Weird synths at the beginning.
Oh, shit! the sound is collapsing! No, that's bad... you must fix it.
Lyrics are hard to listen. Sorry, must stop to listen.
Oh, a new synth... a cut... hard again. No, sorry, this sounds awful.

As a quick and dirty musical notepad, I think this is pretty good.

Ok, the distortion is truly horrible and there's an odd sounding mix to the instruments in places.  But who cares?

This is a good way of putting down ideas for the musical masterpiece that this could become

I look forward to hearing the finished version, with a couple of extra verses, and a clear recording.

Sorry, you do not have access to post...
