Hurrah to the good times! Awe-some sounding! I would've like the synth better if it weren't so dry tho - I mean a stereo effect or a panning echo or something, a little bit more portamento, or a bit vibrato.... The guitars are GREAT!
The sudden breaks happening after 1:55 may work better if there were some vocals included in the track. It compromises the cohesion of the composition, if you know what I mean, leaves me as a listener a little lost in respect of what's up next (for the rest of the song)
All in all great groove&sound! Hurrah to the good times!

Thanks! I was going for a cheesy kind of Cars/Joe Jackson/Van Halen sound on the keyboards, liked the way it didn't sit with the Pavementy guitar sound I was going for initially - you wouldn't believe me if I told you that the guitar is just a dodgy nylon string acoustic treated to bits in GarageBand
.I think it'll come together better with vocals, when it's completed, that break there you're talking about has vocals written for it, I just didn't want a standard a quiet/loud break and it foreshadows the final homestretch of the song nicely as well as breaking the monopoly that the 4-chord trick has up until that point.
Thanks for your feedback, as ever, much appreciated

I like the solid prominant guitar lines - rekon this would work really well with the vocals and I'm look foreward to hearing it again. Theres two things I would make a point about. One is adding some reverb to the synth sound, the other is the drum sound - this is a powerfull sounding song, but the drum sound is thin, especially the cymbals. I used to use a Boss Dr550 drum module and this always happened to me too. I think the song deserves a drum and cymbal sound that kicks ass, like the rest of the song.
And those old times are never more than a good pair of beer goggles away!!

I could beef up the crashes with some midi, make them more prominent, maybe the snare as well. And who said I ever took me beer goggles off?

Cool! I truly love the synth. As a fan of Emerson Lake & Palmer this sets me back to the roots. YES!

ELP? I'd a gone for ELO sorr
I really wanted that Cars vibe to the keyboards - sitting in the back of my dads car in the early 80s with the radio on a summers day, stultifyingly hot, eating icecream. updated as a teenager in the late 80s with loud guitars. I'm glad you like it
)this is a great song, where can i buy your cd cuz i would

Good capture of the essence of the Cars. Needs that punchy sound though, I noticed I cant get that out of Garageband somehow, scratching my head on that one... good stuff, has been downloaded for Car use.

Some great synth sounds in there, me likes. Pretty decent drum sound you're getting there aswell but a little repetitive. Ultra keen to hear it when you have the vox done for it. :)
Cheers!
Damn straight, soon as vocals are done this is going back up - drums are just treated loops in GarageBand, I think I got their position in the mix right by accident.

That could be the ultimate compliment: "has been downloaded for Car use"
Thank you!nice ideas. gets repeatative but a vocal line with good lyrics would soon sort that out. let us know when its finished. thumbs up.
