Vinyl Grooves Podcast - Submissions |
Alright, time for submissions round two!
The theme for this one is electronica. Any form of electronica, so from Marino's funk/groove electronica to Devo's straight up British club stuff to Minds' weird electronica genres that don't actually exist ().
Unlike last time, I will completely disregard any submission that doesn't follow the guidelines. To those people that gave me blanket permission over all their tracks, thank you, but I won't go through everything and pick one. Likewise, if you don't follow the format below, I won't have your track for consideration. Not every track submitted will be featured.
This is the format I'd like:
Name of Track
Link to track (not a link to the track in the Player, but a link to the track's forum page).
All artists involved, named how you want them to appear in the podcast, with what each person did if it was a collaboration.
Year track was released
Something interesting about the track
SUBMIT JUST -----ONE----- TRACK.
No covers (unless they are of public domain standards---I need proof---or if they are of other BandAMP artists with their consent), no non-electronica tracks, no tracks that don't have some electronica focus but were created in FL.
I'm going to keep this episode BandAMP-only again, so I won't announce it on the podcast's main website (even though only about 8 people have listened to it). I don't know when this will be released---it depends on the amount of valid submissions I receive. I will most likely again feature one of my tracks, though not with as much certainty as last time, it depends on the submissions.

...it was a joke. Wow. Seriously, dude, wow.
The Asylum
http://forum.bandamp.com/Audio_Review/2036.html
Released here, March 2006
The artists are ME, my wife Linda(Nakedtoes4me) and son Dusty(Dusty) * ()=Name on Bandamp*
This is one of my first attempts at electronica..I was playing with some samples and some synth stuff, and came up with the first part of this, as my wife heard it, she thought it would be a neat idea to have dusty doing itsy bitsy spider over it to give an eerie effect... then As I started in with the rest of the track and the vocals, She came up with some extra lines that I decided she should be the one to do.. This is a true family effort... This is much more ambient than anything, but I thought it might be a nice addition to your playlist.. If you agree, then by all means take it, it's yours for the playing..
*EDIT*
At 2:03 that is my dog Kia barking and her dog tags jingling..

Hold on, can I get consent from your dog? A paw-print ought to do it. I'll check the legal implications.
dog's defense |
I think I'll be the dog's defense
Kia sang under pressure, and the smashing track killed its ears,
I'm part of animal rights defense organization, specially those who it's owner is a musician
The electronica is no cool for the pets, think about it
If you want to make money, not with the dog man. find another way
Do you want a singer dog? check this:

BasketCase
2007
This track was written from the point of view of my infant son. (I've raised him since he was 2) He's 14 now and has no recollection how his first year on this planet was like. Or does he? So the track is very personal and unfortunately its a reality way too many women and children live through everyday.
PS. There is some foul language..not much...bitch,fuck,fuckin x3..I believe thats all...so 5 curses..I appologize I'm willing to submit more but you've made it clear "ONE" submission lol
Ouch! I was expecting a "that's what she said" but hahaha.
The swearing really isn't a problem for me; and chances are you yourself are going to be a large percentage of the listeners.
One submission, because I expected people'd be excited about this. Oh, and I don't want to have to sift through 8 songs by the same author trying to pick one I like best . This way, you put forward a song that means a lot to you; works (kind of) well, see?
Thanks!
what the heck |
You can't win if you don't play.
Here's my submission: http://forum.bandamp.com/Audio_Review/5845.html.
Cheers,
Rick
