Well, For me, no Genres at all please.........Its just stereo typing ........and that allways bugs me!
So I'm not really into that .........at all.
Fish with goat .. (Great name for band!!! haha) on this ....
there is tons of stuff I'd never have even given 10 seconds to if it was tagged.
Dont worry, I won't lose any sleep if (when) u do use them ....
But I will probably become very confused
and subsequently spend hours gazing into a mirror asking the meaning of life
this is not me by the way .......... I am much more handsome and debonnaire .... haha

Why not give the user the choice of 'tagging' their songs from a choice of three lists (TLS - post #1) on uploading BUT the actual tags remain hidden at all times.
They would only be used by the search function
No tags would be displayed on any page on the site, so they cant be used or abused.
I can see this as a possibility. It would only save me work :P We'll see, since ToastedGoat and swordfish have perfectly valid arguments.
Gotta run for now, but I think there is some potential in a simple implementation such as this.
