Other then the sample in the back ground that I thought could have been turned down a bit after the intro, I don't know many people who can move that fast on an FG Yamaha. Keep up the good work and don't worry about your sound because it's awsome.

This song sounds wounderful. It seems that much of the melody was improvised... but thats not a sin! It was worth the listen.

Simply put, this is what i want to hear!

Very well done!

I think the effects are great and a nice feel to the song. I really like the slight change in backing guitar at about 1:12. Perhaps it would improve slighlty with some lyrics tho.

Amazing
I really like this. Especially when the initial rain wears off. Coordinated very well, and i love the beat. Beautiful music! Keep it up!! 10 points!!

Short way home!
All bud,

Just a line to say i really enjoyed the song. It shows plenty of facets to your musical abilities indeed, from the playing to the recording. It was interesting to imagine the long way home in my head but i felt the track a bit short so it felt like i got home pretty fast.

The few things i could suggest for improvement would be the timing issues i noticed at the start of the track. We can forgive all this but if one wanted to improve the track the timimng of some of the licks could be nailed down, i understand that you did it all in single takes but the beauty of home recording is that we can do it again and again and get it right.
Timing also in the horse sample, if you could stretch or squeeze it to fit more rhythmically with that big kick drum it would sound like a much bigger horse, original sound effect and i like it.
Keep up the good work and i hope you can hear and rate some of my stuff some time

re: A Long Way Home
[color=blue]so soft, but so full of life.
very nice song. Im a drummer myself, but the acoustics and the rain effect worked perfectly. The very slight out-of-timeness added to the natural feel of the song

keep up the good work!

LOL

It's true that I intentionally kept the timing issues. Also, the beginning where the lead seems to slip out of time (syncopated) it is actually 'in time' just played off-the-beat - I played it that way. I listened to it afterwards and thought 'why did I do that??' and I had no idea but I decided to keep it in. I just wanted to keep the track fresh...its the kind of song for me that you I could never play the same twice!

Anyway, thanks for the comments all and yes I will be sure to keep rating around the site. I try and listen to and review every new song that is posted!
