This one grabs me.  I am not even listening for your words.  I think you really generate the hook with the sound.  your voice becomes just another layer to the onion of the scape.   The bass sound reminds of The Cure for some reason.  greating ending.

i really like the ambience on this one. this style of music is quite popular in toronto (canada, where i live) right now. reminds of earlier 4AD (the record label) material, raw and textured, of which i am huge fan.

Very Nice
This was good. Joy Division kind of came to my mind, a little.
I like a distorted drum once in a while. Adds texture to the beat.
Q. Is it all guitar, or is there some Keys.
You know you mixed it right when you can't tell.
I very much liked the hold at the end, with the grounding buzz still present.
Adds that real sound that we tend to lose in a too polished world.

thanks, Soni -

This is all guitars. One bass, one "clean" guitar (with lotsof echo) and one minimal distorted guitar.

That and vocals and heavy effects make for the eventual result....

glad you liked it.

Joy Division is greatly to my liking, although I only knew it from goth clubs at the time I recorded this. Well, when your ears are watered down with drinks and spiced up with substance I guess you do pick up a few interesting things from those nights... And that may obviously resound in my own creative works

this ofcourse counts for the 4AD stuff aswell. I love early Cocteau Twins and deeply dig Dead Can Dance... (I have all there albums etc)

thanks!

Well Done! Can't say much else, it's all been said. I honestly like your unique vision and ability to carry it out. Wish I knew the lyrics.
Now that I've been listening for a while, my only critique is the bass or baritone guitar is a bit repetitive. Other than that, performance and production is excellent.

Reminiscent of Talking Heads or should that be New Order ? (influences - not rip off) or maybe I'm Talking Rubbish. Got my vote.

ah Joy Division ! knew it was one of those (so I was Talking Rubbish)

Perhaps it makes the song stronger when you add a bridge.(for variation)but this is just a suggestion. It could be make this song more interesting to listen at.
I am not suggest this one isn"t.But 5min40 is a little bit to long for that reason

Sounds like a song of the album pornography by the cure.
Cure esk bass guitar sound you"ve got there.
Overall:really good job you did.

I think, the vocals could have been more up in the mix, and, more importantly, the drums could have been a little lower. And I also dislike the sound of the drum machine, to me it is too electronic and ehm.. archaic.. the rhythm too. You could maybe think of a more interesting drum track (and I know it's not that easy ), or maybe up-to-date the song a little bit. It is fine and atmospheric (the reverb really does its job well), but ... If it really has to be electronic, I would appreciate a bit more modern sound and arrangement.

well, you are basically telling me to redo the entire song in an entirely different arrangement. let's face it - I won't. This song is this song with the minimal drum tracks and the vocals to the back (as stated in the description and I didn't really want to hear anyone about that, since this is purposely done. It's more about the sound of the vocals used as an instrument, less about the lyrics. Besides, the vocals aren't that far to the back, frequency spikes of the effects to them will definately reach your ears and deliver whatever words I'm saying.

other than that thanks for your review.

sounds great cranked way up
this kicks, the vocals come out alot better when it's really cranked up loud. Kinda cool to use the vocals as  effect instead of the main theme. Nice job, good production.

The distant vocals work very well, I wouldn't have it any other way!
