LMAO hahaha thats funny................

And NOOOOW......!

Oldies324's guide to cool band names.

OK first off you have to know what makes a band name "cool".
And since you don't know (cause if you did, you wouldn't be reading this), I'll tell you.
A band name is cool when it gives the band an identity.
Band names like "FireWall" doesn't do this. It sounds like a thing, not people.
Try "The Flames". It's THAT SIMPLE! You don't sound gay anymore!

But just in case, I made a little step-by-step thingie-ma-bobber.

1. Think of something cool. Or moderately cool. Or just something that you know of.
      Example: Scissors

2. What does it do, or simply exist?
      Example: they cut.

3. Add "The" and make it plural. Or go with the word in the second step, and add an adjective as well.
      Example: "The Scissors". "The Quick Cuts".

Not bad Oldies not bad at all....yes an identity....so don't call yourself the crooners if your going to be a metal band...you get it? So ya.....what style of music and your mates personalities should come into play for the name as well I believe.Is there 3 of you? If so I love the name Odd Man Out....I was in a 3 piece band for about 6 months (first and last band) and that's what I wanted  us to be called cause whenever there was a discussion there was always one of us that didn't agree but since there was 3...well ya there was an Odd Man Out.Good luck!

hmm
Dude, oldies, what the hell, Firewall sounds so much cooler than the flames. Firewall soundsl ike powermetal, The Flames sounds like all this "Indie" crap they keep playing on the radio.
Anyway, it's all matter of opinion really and it depends on what sort of music you're playing.
You wouldn't want to be called Firewall if you weren't playing Powermetal.
One thing to remember, don't have a colour in your name unless your emo.

Nowadays, if you add a couler into your name it tends to mean you're Emo. And yes, Aetherius Yellowcard and Greenday are most definatly Emo.
Comon, how can you not see that.
Greenday's newer stuff is Emo anyhow, there older stuff isn't at all but just take a look at Greenday nowadays, they are sooooooooooooooooooo emo.....

My band is called "Oir" that in english means "Listen".
But the reason is not that simple. The name comes also cause "Oir" upside-down is "Rio", that means "River", and a river flows, like our music.
So it has a double meaning... Cool, eh?

I like a name with a double meaning; The Dregs of Humanity.
As far as I know, it's not taken.

What is the double meaning? Well, make sure you understand the word dregs first. Then;

   could mean;
- the worst of the human race
- the last of the human race

cool, no?

Iszil, when you say upside-down, I believe you mean backwards........but whatever.

This is a simple and effective way of naming a band, however, there may be the need to search deeper to find a good name. I would probably stay away from using numbers, although it will work in some cases. Other names may suit for personal reasons, eg Eskimo Joe is an inside joke to the band. Combining two words can work, eg Wolfmother, or phrases, eg The Living End. Then there's external references and titles, for example Augie March (you may not have heard of them), or Good Charlotte.

I dunno what you want, so there are a few additions to Oldies name giving guide, so we'll leave it up to you. Good luck!
