Experience with condensor AT 4040 or peavy preamplifiers
I've been thinking about buying a AT 4040 and a peavy preamplifier, does anyone have feedback on either?

I have a AT 4047  that I got for a good price and I love it .    at4040.I  ab'd it in a condenser mic thread on here somwhere i think..  Early Mornig Jam the acguitar song  i put up here was recorded with the at4047  I think it did a pretty good job and there was some mention of the guitar tone (mic had a lot to do with it).
hear it here

hey umm.. if you havnt already
baught the at440 I might suggest the
MXL 990 or the 991
you can get them both in a package
for $100 at musicians friend
or seperatly but I bought
them both a while back
for a little practice gig PA
system and I have to say that
these are now my regular mics
and that they do better than
the 3 shure 58 mics that i own!!!!

Eh, dude I've tried MXL and they sound cheap and bad to me. Shure 58's are performance mic, any condensor will beat them out in a recording setup.

Thanks for the input anyways.

I have also heard some good things about the AT 3035

i think this is going to be my next mic purchase though

Other than the AKG C 414 Bxl mic  (my favorite so far)...  I have come to really like the sound and quality of the AT mic's.. They give you outstanding sound compared to other mics in the same price range.

I don't know much about the peavey preamp thing..  I am looking to get the blue faced focusrite or  one of the better avalon preamps sometime in the distant future.. right now I have a cheaper focusrite (i never use it)  my preamps consist of what ever is in whatever mixer I'm using.
