What Software Do You Use? |
hey,
Just wanted to get an idea of what kind of software everyone is using. Trying to see what's popular and what's not. Now, just to set things straight, I believe that it's the music that counts, and if it kicks, the means don't matter. However, good software certainly can make a big difference in the quality.
So... as for me, I'm using a Mac running OS 10.3. I started out using GarageBand along with a couple other utilities (mainly Audacity, more recently SoundHack). Now I've upgraded to Ableton Live 5. I just bought it, like... yesterday... so that's me.
I'd be interested in everyone's replies. Thanks
- Ben

FruityLoops, Goldwave, Audacity and several plugins. I also use various midi programs to import stuff from my keyboard.

ugh, I went to install Native Instruments Reaktor with a whole bunch of refills and patches and whatnot... After 2 1/2 hours of endless installing of "ensembles" I kinda lost all sense of time and space... Tried to run the damn program and drowned in an endless ocean of virtual synths and effects and drum machines... I'm still being haunted by freakish soundwaves tormenting my inner ear... Seems I be needing therapy on my all-analog attic again
but for the record: Nuendo... that's the best 1 if you can't afford a Pro Tools rig!
