TIME ! is also a good solution, but a bad suggestion for people who want to upload music there and then !
I've had this problem as have so many others. the first time I just waited and it worked again within a few weeks , the second time saving my mp3s in iTunes worked for me.

All I can say is that it has to do with something like MP3 type:

'audio/mpg',
'audio/mpeg',
'audio/mp3',
'audio/x-mp3',
'audio/x-mpeg',
'audio/x-mpg'

so this could be an issue of the software you are using for coding your wav to mp3. Try another software and then upload again.

LOL! with all due respect, TK.. i dont know if you have followed previous issues like this before posted in this section...  long story short Ive used Sony Acid, Adobe Audition, Wavelab, FL Studio, cheesy online converters...128, 192... you name it... Cant we make this thing less picky?

I too have tried converting it using a variety of encoders, programs and bit rates.  Still doesnt work.  Still havent gotten around to trying from my laptop.  Currently Im trying from Vista Premium - my laptop is XP so maybe that has something to do with it...?

Few bugs here and there (and everywhere) but there are a lot of fixes floating around the web for them.   I genuinley prefer it as a system though.

The informations listed above are the reason that BandAmp tells you the message: "file not a valid mp3".
That means if the uploaded mp3 type is not a type as listed then the "error" message appears.
I don't think it has to do with something like operating systems or hardware or BandAmp or the bathing stuff of the farmer which IS the reason that he can't swim.
If you are not sure which type of file format your mp3 coder produces, just have a look at this:
http://mpgedit.org/mpgedit/mpeg_format/mpeghdr.htm#MPEG%20HEADER
You can find the main page here: http://mpgedit.org/mpgedit/index.html

Actually TK, my doesn't say "file not a valid mp3", mine says something like I've already uploaded a song with that title... I've tried clearing out my cache, changed the name, ID3 tagged-it with a different name, still won't upload... Not that the song was very important, so I don't feel like re-recording at this present juncture, so I'm not bitchin' too much, just curious as to what that is... Tis all...

I'm having the same issue. It IS a valid Mp3, it's the same encoder I've used before. Looks like a BandAmp issue to me!
