Dark Blues in E
Hey Babe, I got this need that I feel
Like a slo-gin fizz on a Ferris Wheel
Feels like you're too far away

I wanna know that I can touch you
I wanna know that I can hold you
I wanna know that when you look at me
My world still disappears -
Well it all just goes away

When I see you in the night time
It’s like the sun ain’t ever shined
And when I see you in the morning
Oh babe, I might as well be blind

And when I’m stumbling in the darkness
Darling please, don’t let me down
All you have to do is touch me, baby
Raise me up to higher ground

Big wheel keeps on turning
Can't step off while it’s spinning
So I'll watch this world go ‘round and ‘round and ‘round
Until it all just goes away

I really think that you have a song...love to hear music to it if you have any
I think that the symbolism is rather iteresting.

hmmm...
I may experiment a little with these lyrics, if it's ok with you...

                 Could be fun!

Hey! so whats all this about 'Sustaining Inspiration'?

You've gone all 'general' on me in the last verse!

You can touch me all night long if you wanna! lol
'I wanna know if you can sing'

I'd say you've got to have a good load of emotion to put these words in their proper place.

thank you all
You are all a too kind bunch. Thank you. I was half expecting to get ripped, sort of looking forward to it too. It's nice to hear taht people like my stuff, but it doesn't give me input on how to improve.

Jim, feel free to play with the lyrics.

Kings, the last verse isn't general, it's coming back to the feeling of distance and separation from the first verse - coming full circle, like the Ferris Wheel. I can sing, but you have to sit in the shower with me until I have the courage to record. When I talk about sustaining inspiration, I mean that inspiration can be fleeting. Sometimes you get inspired and an idea pops into your head and you start writing. But 15 minutes later you lose the groove, and then you are just grasping. You fall back into your normal, uninspired mode, and the work reflects it. You have to find ways to get yourself out of your creative and emotional comfort zone. That is why some people think drugs make them more creative, but the problem is that pretty soon drugs become your comfort zone, and you still aren't creative been there, done that.

So you think you kneed to improve? Which direction are you going?/want to go?

Your writing is excellent.

So coming 'out of the shower' would be the next step?

I interpret what you mean by 'sustaining inspiration', I'm simply exercising my right to play with it.

To be honest with you it was something I had noticed in my own writing but had never put it into words.
So I did experience a slight, but significant moment of enlightenment when reading the original comment for the first time. cheers

I really like these. I'm playing around with them and a slow bluesy groove in Em. If it's alright with you I'd like to play around with this a little.

Have at it, DTF. And thanks for looking back so far to find these lyrics.
