Phantasmagoria of Passing Shows
While I was in the mood (so to speak), I thought I'd add another song.  This one's a little on the sad side!

See what you think

Phantasmagoria of Passing Shows

The man who says the end is nigh
Stands sipping his beer at the bar
He preaches but doesn’t practise
‘cos belief doesn’t want to go that far

Well he tried but was crucified by his own self indulgence
Having to lie to get to the truth,
as his life had lost its importance

Some teacher writing his story on a blackboard
Has an inattentive class below
So sad a story for a once bright light
But nobody seems to want to know

Well, he’d tried but was crucified but his own self indulgence
Having to lie to get to the truth,
in case life lost all importance

The preacher can preach, but he can’t believe
So he tells of what a fool he’s been
Making up stories just to prove his point
When the point has never been seen by him

So they all tried, but were crucified by their own self indulgence
Having to lie to find out the truth,
because life has lost it’s importance

Hmmm, no movement on this one.  Funny, I prefer it to many of my other lyrics.

I think this is pretty much my life story. Particular lines,

So sad a story for a once bright light
But nobody seems to want to know

and this whole verse-

The preacher can preach, but he can’t believe
So he tells of what a fool he’s been
Making up stories just to prove his point
When the point has never been seen by him

Well, I've seen the point many times but not always as much I say. I think everyone does that.

Anyway, I think these are great lyrics. They speak a lot of truth. The imagery at the start got my attention as well, sipping beer and all. I relate to that, seems as though he is in deep thought about his life and what he has to show for it. All the things he wish he could have changed etc. I do that quite a bit with my beer, though as I'm still young I use the same time to think what I still have a chance to do.
Anyway. I really do like these lyrics as I can relate to them and they speak a lot of truth.
Your brother from another mother,
