Secret words
Secret words
Hidden places
Signs and sounds

What runs around comes around
And is still bound I'm sure
Our Magnificence, Our Insignificance
The need we have for love

She spoke to me, as I was open
She spoke to me, as I was alone
She came to me, for I had awoken
Things in her, things that were, as yet unbroken and thus unknown

She smiled at me, as I welcomed her in
She came to me, because she knew I was there
She spoke to me, as she knew I would listen
In view of my position, she knew I would care

Secret words
Hidden places
Signs and sounds

What runs around comes around
And is still bound I'm sure
Our Magnificence, Our Insignificance
The need we have for love

She spoke to me of freedom
And how close it is to captivity
I told her of my many ways
She showed what it was she could see

Secret words
Hidden places
Signs and sounds

What runs around comes around
And is still bound I'm sure
Our Magnificence, Our Insignificance
The need we have for love

Very cool
For some reason, I am channeling Feist. ^^

I like this. A nice Simple chorus and meaningful verses.

I would suggest minor changes only for the sake of fluidity:

She spoke to me of freedom
And how close it is to captivity
I told her of my many ways
She showed what it was she could see

to

She spoke to me of freedom
And it's closeness to captivity
I told her of the many ways
She brought me to where I could see

This lyric is cool. It kindof illustrates the balance of ego vs realism and karma. And how close we are to emprisoning ourselves in the pursuit of happiness and love. Perhaps by letting things happen as they may and taking the little moments as they come, we live life instead of pursuing it on that proverbial hamster wheel.

Hey dusty, thanks for the comment...and a good comment it is too...
I can appreciate your 'change for fluidity' even though it changes the meaning, it can still fit.
Except....It's not really about me in that 'she didn't bring me to where I could see', what 'I could see' is the lyric it's self.
One small change you make I will take on board, that is the 'the many ways' , that reads properly.
So.....

She spoke to me of freedom
And how close it is to captivity
I told her of the many ways
She showed what it was, that she could see.

Now it's a conversation with / about 'her' again.

Cheers

I'm not going to get philosophical with you about it at the moment, my philosophy is the the lyric anyway, but I do really like the way you see it!
One I always carry with me is from the Runes philosophy :
Try to live an ordinary life in an extraordinary way!
