We should get a battle system!
2 or more members battle each other.
They have to create a song for the battle and it could be based on a theme.
(Like writing a song about how you're writing the song or something like that
)
People then submit their entries and then people can vote on their favourite!
The song with the most votes wins!
I don't know if this is possible or not but I hope so, because I'd lvoe this!

Take this theme challenge for instance...
All those who made a song would be entered, and everyone votes, by commenting and casting their virtual vote, the one with the most votes, wins!
Sounds neat... The battle ability is here, but is quirky, and me thinks it isn't working right again...
I think tis best to go with virtual battle, and virtual votes, If you like my song, cast a vote in your comment.

Hmm but then it is harder to track and stuff.
But if we wanted to do that, put a new thread in announcements with a link to all the songs.
Then people type "I Vote for This" in the thread of the song that they wish to vote for.
Should be fun!

Thats what has been missing all this time! A "Current Battle Discussion" Thread!
For every battle there should be a thread in which people can discuss their favorite tunes, share what they've voted for and why, in other words highlighting their favorite tunes from that battle, if they want to ofcourse. It will add a new dimension to critiquing, this way people will reveil more about their personal motives and tastes - and others will maybe triggered to listen to some song they'd otherwise avoid. Ofcourse everyone should still critique to the songs themselves, too...
Wouldn't that be a nice idea? The Current Battle Discussion could be a auto-generated sticky in the Pit, un-stickying automatically when the battle is over, making place for new, and featuring a link to the list of all songs and a welcome text stating what the thread is for.

Yup that's a great idea.
And fairly simple to do as well.
But we should also do more battles than the standard monthly ones.
We should have "themed" challenges where people can enter if their song qualifies for the theme.
