Hey Meow Machine, Is there any metallica songs you do like?

i love the older metallica, just lost them with their later albums,

and when i heard they get €10.000 for a gig on a festival, playing 1 1/2 hour exactly, theyre only the best PAYED band in the world to me

but i love their cover of Iron Maidens 'Remember Tomorrow'
and i admire their sound

I personally think Metallica is now a little over-rated these days.
Their album cover for their new album is pretty awesome though

No LedZeppelin in that list Kunadian? I don't mind what your "favourite" bands are, everyones taste are different, but if your talking about the "best" bands, then you need a bit of Zep. Anyway, Metallica have a good sound, and certainly a successful one too, but I havn't heard any of there recent stuff.

Looks more like a pit post to me than news and events but anyways.Like Max early Metallica is very cool specially Kill em all,Master of puppets and Ride the Lighting...As far as them be the best metal band Ill give you the fact that they put metal on mainstream and are great"melodic metal music writers' and certainly good riffs come from them.To me there the pop metal of the 80's and early 90's..If you want real metal then I suggest

Metallica is more on the lines of Anthrax ,Megatdeth(Mustaine previous member of metalica)...

I think this is great and a good door opener for many...I only wish Lars and Hammet played a bit better..In my book there great as songwriter but by no means great instrumentalist..For that Martin Friedman ,Dime bag Darrel,Joey Jordison,etc rule..
I also I'm quite sure Jim Uk knows Metallica I think he meant something else....
Aside from that merits on metallica are well deserved but there NOT the best in my opinion..There new songs are nothing that moves me either..Sorry but no...

I just like M&S, cause you have a selection of Metallica good stuff and the plus of having a symphonic orchestra supporting, which can make even crap sound like magic.
But I'm not a Metallica fan, and I don't have any intention of listening their last album.
And, by the way, they have some of the most boring guitarists in rock scene. Between Megadeth and Metallica (considering both as most well know thrash icons) I think I pick Megadeth cause of their composition quality.
