Deadbeat Walk
*
Score: 67.2%
Rank: 34rd
Battle: 2005-08

Done all by myself.  Apologies for the unbalanced tracked drumming.  There are a couple of places where some tracks skid (i.e. are unsynchronized) because my machine's too slow :-(.  Chorus is lacking texture, I think.

I quite enjoyed that - especially the chorus and the 'wacky' solo. An uplifting track overall - not sure about the vocals in places but the overall production is good and yes the drums are tinny particularly the cymbals a bit loud but doesnt ruin the track. Nice work

Lyrics
For those who are interested.

I've got a bag full of money
and a job to do
I'm gonna take you with me
that's what I'm gonna do
and walk
here's to the deadbeat walk
here's to the deadbeat walk
I've got a bag full of money
and an AK too
I'm gonna take them with me
motherfucker stew
and we'll walk
here's to the deadbeat walk
here's to the deadbeat walk
well I know you suffer
I'm a sufferer too
and there's no-one out there
feels so fucking blue
here's to you

I'm digging this man, the production is a bit 'looser' than I usually like, but admirable since this is all you.

I like the chorus as is, gives it a very solid feel.

I would definitely turn the solo up a bit in the mix and maybe drop everything back a bit, it gets a little muddy when it comes in.

This sounds just like Joy Division, (apart from the chorus which sounds like the Foo Fighters). Not a bad song though - good job.

I think that this song has potential up the ass. I think that if you were to play it in a band motif, it'd be toatally solid! The only thing is that it sounds like the higher vocal harmony was a bit out of your range, especcially on the "Here's to you" part. The solo's way cool though, I wouldn't change a note of it!! I agree that it should be turned up, though. Kudos!!

Liking it. It's ALMOST fantastic, but lacking something I can't put my finger on. A bit moor oomph perhaps. bass needs to be bassier, guitar solo louder, methinks

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought.  It's missing something.  I just can't figure out what :-)
