Try to interpret john frusciante, maybe a bit of "the doors" feeling, hope you'll enjoy it.

The title says it, maybe I'm a bit schizophrenic..

Madness in your Brain

The Walls around you are growing
you shiver from the coldness of your heart
your darkest thoughts are rising
the moon replaces the sun
the never ending winter night has come

it isn't easy to control (your Life)
where would you go to
if there's nobody around (survive)
the darkness that surrounds you
blinded your eyes (cry)
keep on running till
you running out of time (try)
you may seek but
you may not find (the path)
you're invisible
but you can't hide (so shine)

can you here them? they tell you what to do and if you do so - you'll never find silence. Don't try to speak with them coz' they won't hear you. They only hear their own words.
wrong words ugly words words of destruction

Repeat 1x

Repeat Chorus 1x
The Sadness in your Soul
and the Madness in your Brain
doesn't cause your pain (it does)

Hey nice one. Wish there were drums though. Awesome recording quality. I played them on a horrible set of speakers but sti;; the sound came without any noise. Awesome song too.

I agree with the need for drums.  Otherwise I was into it though.

I really dig the vocals, the guitar is also really perfect for the song. Drums would be nice though.

voice recorded well. but needs to be louder!. Guitar would sound a lot beter mixxed louder in background with a LOT of reverb. Love the 60's keyboard.

Great sound... Like everyone else... may need a little drumming.  Cool feel to the song.  I really like the bass line (how it gets really low between the verses).  Sweet.

I'll have to listen to this track later when I'm at home, but I hope it makes up for the lyrics... *SO GENERIC*. Sorry man, but they are. Great lyrics tell a story in a different way than anyone else has before. Do I listen to a shitload of Sting? No, but the man can write damn good lyrics. Ditto Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell and Bruce Cockburn and Gordon Lightfoot and Martin Tielli (yay CanCon)... Y'know? Those musicians are wordsmiths. They paint pictures that suck you in... like a good novel or a play. This is the difference between the CLICHÉED recycled crap on the radio that will be forgotten by Christmas and the stuff that stand the test of time.

Check it out:
Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she’s gone.

...WHAT?? Vivid, right? And how long ago was it written?

Or
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night,
who poverty and tatters and hollow-eyed and high sat up smoking in the supernatural darkness of cold-water flats
floating across the tops of cities contemplating jazz

OR
Hello darkness, my old friend,
I’ve come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.

In other words, we want to hear *your* voice, *your* words, *your* images, *your* creativity... paint us a picture that'll give us whiplash with the doubletake.

[NB if I get home and this a Country & Western song, I take it all back. very nice]

BT that's so freaky you posted The Sound of Silence
I've been singing it all week, seriously, I'm not kidding!
What is that about?

Ha.

Because it's great writing?

Because you've been lonely and fraught?

Because actually I sit in the cubicle next to you and I've heard you every single godforsaken day and now I'm singing it too?
