This song is not in a battle

Second version of Petermoncrieff's song. This was sort of done for fun because I liked the song.   Hope you enjoy...

Lyrics:

STEFAN
Don't act like you don't know what has been going around
See girl I already know about
The little words that come out of your mouth
So let's walk until you figure it out
I know that there are feelings that we both share
So stop messing about and stop leading me on
I can feel it coming down and it's all too much

And we take two steps back
We're falling backwards
I never wanted to fall for you
Times will change
And people worry
We take two steps back

PETER
So it's been a year since then
I guess maybe you could have changed
Does your mom still call you up on the telephone?
To let you know
That you can't think without her
You need her there, do you need her there?
Think about it does her approval
Really mean that much to me?

And we take two steps back
We're falling backwards
I never wanted to fall for you
Times will change
And people worry
We take two steps back

Interesting Collab guys
Sounds pretty Good, A bit heavy on the Voice corrector IMO
Drums sound too ambient, perhaps if you can reduce the room mic or reduce reverb and make it drier, they would be more up front.

WELL DONE

I would define as happy punk pop.
But dude, that auto-tune is really annoying. You used it way too much! More than in any other song, I guess.
Agree about reducing the room mic/reverb in the drums. They sound as if you recorded it in a rehearsal.
The production is good. That synth reminds me of the main theme of a kids' show here in Chile; probably that's why I feel that happy feeling here. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUwXszyzG_k
Nice collab. Just try to fix those details.

Aaa that bloody auto tune of yours fase.....this becomes an absolutely excellent song but it's such a short bit.....right at the end........grab that and that feel and do the whole thing again, then your talking.
But either tune down, drop or just get to know the auto tune, by get to know I mean if you were to get it to hit in on certain words, phrases or lines and not just slap all the way through! Then you'd be ...... singing !
And not as if you've been squeezed painfully through Windows Narrator !

But a very good collab never the less, I like your sound a lot.
Are we talking a one shot here or are you guys thinking further? hope you are.
And if I understand it right , a nice bit of re-mixing too.

Thank you guys. About the auto tune...Me personally, I try not to use it anymore, but in the original song it was used and I wanted to keep the original feel. I'll work on a version without it though, this was done sort of quickly.

No, dont take it out completely, I do see that it is a very cool effect and style if you use it and it does suit the song....
but LESS IS MORE !

Just a quick throw-in:

I cant stand this autotune. Autotune is not an instrument, it's an effect. And like the work with all effects, add them sparely and clever.
Look how decent 'chauvette' used it in his songs.

About your collab... good work guys... more of this please...

As for the autotune disaster, take "two steps back"

+1 TK..

I like the feel of it.. the snare sounds a tad dull.. imho the highs could be up a little more with the snare, 1.5k to 4k  should be a sweet spot in there somewhere for that snare.  That should pull it forward in the mix without walking on other stuff.  It's at the right volume , just sounds dull.

cool song very modern pop feel to it.

Im not a fan of auto-tune, or the genre...
HOWEVER!
I think the song was intelligently pieced together.
Seamless pop song.
The synth is pleasing, but the drums need to be less ambient (like denis said).
I do feel like the harmonies on the end need a little touching up, they get a tad pitchy.

Overall, good song, catchy, energetic.
Good work.
