I Cant Complain

This song is not in a battle

"I Can't Complain"

Kind of a new version of 'Lead Me On'. Changed the chorus, key and a few other things because I wasn't really happy with it.

Lyrics

I want you to listen
There's something that I have to say
It's took time cause it's about you
You see

I hope that you can listen to all of my words
Cause I know that you're not coming back

I can't complain
When I know you're feeling so ashamed
You've thought about it all
And I can't complain
When you are not getting what you want
See you've wasted all your time

I tried hard to make this last
But I don't wanna waste my time
On a girl that doesn't matter to me
See I can be so sweet but that was for the girl that
Meant something to me
I don't even know why I liked you anyway

I hope that you can listen to all of my words
Cause I know that you're not coming back

I can't complain
When I know you're feeling so ashamed
You've thought about it all
And I can't complain
When you are not getting what you want
See you've wasted all your time

See I was hoping for the best and I never believed that
This would end like this and
I pictured happiness
I, I pictured everything and
This will be the last thing I ever write to you

I hope that you can listen to all of my words
Cause I know that you're not coming back

I can't complain
When I know you're feeling so ashamed
You've thought about it all
And I can't complain
When you are not getting what you want
See you've wasted all your time

VOX MUCH BETTER.(some backing vox may be worth trying in the chorus)
The bass sounds muffled, how are you recording it? I would try and get a better tone it will really fatten the song up.
I still like the song.

WELL DONE!!

The vocals are slightly off on a FEW parts, but that doesent ruin the song. I like the sound, it doesen't seem like people are maing music like this anymore. I agree with Denis. You should try to add a few things to 'fatten' the mix up a bit, it sounds a bit 'live-sounding'. Unless that's what you were going for. Overall, great song.

Effect at 2:04 was so cool (and at the ending)!

The vocals, well, to be honest, "I can't complain" because I don't really sing either, so I don't have any advice for you. I think Fais nailed it there with his review.

The whole song sounds a bit mellowed out (more bass than treble), but it sounds really good. There's not much work to do with the arrangement, it's very nicely written and played.

Good work!

Really chill alt rock sounding song
the thing that stuck out the most to me was the lyrics, they matched the song perfectly and were well written overall

The overall production of guitar/vox is really impressive. If I can offer any change, I would scrap the entire percussion section all together, and just leave it as a really cool acoustic song. Maybe add a light reverb to the vocals, and pan the guitar track to the left/right? I think that would improve the mix by miles. But, overall, I've listened to this 3 times already.

Ha I believe I have said this before, but I again reiterate:  this song sounds very reminiscent of old acoustic Dashboard Confessionals.  I think yes, the lyrics fit the song exceptionally well, and I truly still enjoy this song.  I do like this version better.  With respect to fais, I have to say that I think the percussion fits the song very well, specifically around 2:04.  While I would love to hear a live performance with just an acoustic, I think the song functions better with the perc. in.

As for the vox, great character with them.  While they are a bit pitchy (as are mine, so no offense lol) I really enjoy them.  Very few people can have "perfect pitch", but pitch does not ensure they are singing anything of value.  I would much rather listen to an imperfect vocal with a great message than a perfect vocal that says nothing.

Very nice song here.

You sure you are not north-american?
This totally need an electric guitar to make it complete... or make a smoother drums line. One of those.
But I like this more than the acoustic version. Just add the electric guitar.

PS: Sounds totally like the pop/rock music coming from the US.
