This song is not in a battle

Here it is,

What you've all been waiting for

the one the only  Dexter Dull and the Sharp Tones!!

with the first installment of my protest song...

Version 2 will be a 100 times better!!  but who says
a protest song can't be fun!! or funny?? remember
the Dixie Chicks??  I think they're still around somewhere!

This is excellent, I love your voice , you have a 'classic' tone, to my european ear that is !
OK maybe it's not excellent, but it's dead funny anyway! lol
I really like the conversation in the beginning , would actually love to hear more of this type of acappella stuff
I haven't understood the whole 'Protest song' thing going on, and I still don't, is this supposed to be a protest song?

Dont you have to start a myMusicSpace account before you can upload your music and have it play on your my(music)Space page?

Kings..
hey bro.. hiya's... been a few since we spoke..
yea he's in prison because he wouldn't pick
up the gun and fight in the war... I tried
to approach the protest thing from a more
obscure and laid back angle.. and make it
fun..  this is a rough.. the finished version
has bluegrass guitar, bass and three part
harmonies.. may leave the guys talking in
the background though.. thought it was
very fast off the top of my head too..
Dexter Dull and the Sharp Tones haven't
ridden a stage in almost 30 years now..
they liked getting back in the spot light
after all these years!! lol....

Blue this is just amazing!!
Mobile Alabama,
LOL
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Usually through music software you can find the options tab with the audio settings were latency could be adjusted. But it all depends on your sound card and software!!

Yea, my dad's oldest brother, my uncle retired
as the assistant editor to the press register news
paper there in mobile.. after he retired twenty
years from the navy... lol...  I have been from
one end of bama to the other..  lol...

thanks, but it was meant to sound like the ol'
Dexter Dull and the Sharp Tones..  or for
an example you may be more familiar with
would be the Gatlin Brothers song "Midnight
Choir" that was banded from the radio air
play across this country the third day after
it was released.. if you get a chance find a
copy to that one and check it out!! it's so kewl!!
and of course the people at the relief mission
were all paid very well..  the bigest part of the
stink made of it was the way they were paid..
they was only given a few dollars in cash.. knowing
the biggest part of them would run to the nearest
liqueur store and buy booze if they were paid cash..
so the company bought them brand new clothes,
gave them places to stay and offered jobs with the
local labor force.. then given an allowance of cash
where they wouldn't buy enough alcohol to give
themselves alcohol poisoning!!!!   LD and I had a
friend that killed himself with alcohol poisoning..
he honestly drank two fifths of vodka in less then
a half hour.. they found him dead in his hotel room
the next morning.. he was working on a constrution
crew, so the boss didn't know he would do anything
like that!! His mother had me play for his funeral..

But yea, the idea was to sound as much like five
or six guys late night in the back room of the bar
just having fun as well as talking about their friend
in prison cause he wouldn't join the army and fight..

latency, well I have adjusted every last possible
software selection I could find.. both within the two
sound cards, (every possible combination of each so
it would be sure to cover all possible bases) and inside
each of the softwares.. I watched all of the latency
videos fish sent me on the cubase settings.. then went
and found latency settings and trouble shooting on
everything else I could find on youtube and any of the
webcam communities that would allow you to view them
free...  I am just missing one combination somewhere or
something..
I am using the Tascam US-122 as my audio - midi interface..
before I started trying to tighten this problem up, I was able
to get a signal in to the midi, but not to.. and then was able
to record regular audio on cubase, cool edit and sony acid..
fruity loops 6 would also recieve midi but not send it...  as
of right now the only software period I am able to record
audio on is cool edit..  audicity, krystal, cubase, acid.. non
will recieve audio signal no matter how I set it up.. asio
settings included... and as you hear, the problems in cool
edit pro are worse even..  like tonight I tried to record the
instruments to this song to do a serious version of it..
I keep getting a skipping of the main instrument / 1st track
and then I have had the second track be as much as eight to
eleven seconds off, delayed.. with LD as my witness, she will
tell you that no matter how bad my strokes were, my natural
rhythm is no where near that bad!!!  bless her heart she can
be a very patient woman with the patience of Jobe!!! lol..

there you have it bro.. a kinda lengthy version.... will pm it
to you also so you can study it and the different switches
both hardware and software that I am very loosely referring to!

there is no reason for me to sound like this much of an amature
trying to record on two separate eight track tape decks..

Is this your own song ? In that you wrote the lyric ?
If it is and you would record one serious track, I'd sincerely love to do some harmonies and layering with you on the chorus !
'I wake up',  it's beautiful and says it all!

Kings..
ayup.. it's all my lyrics..  I wrote it over about an hour
time span day before yesterday.. I sit yesterday afternoon
after I got back up, and tried to record a serious track..
I mean without a drum track, I played the 12string rhythm
track so perfect that even LD commented on it..  then
played it back and it popped in a few places as well as even
stuttered in a few spots.. (latency during the recording.)
so I went into the software(s) and tried to adjust it, went
into the hardware drivers and tried...  it only has seemed to
get worse.. I hate recording on a computer.. if God had of
meant for us to record on computers, he would have fixed
both reel to reels and cartridge recorders with I.C. Chips!
rofalol...

thanks bro.. I am tryin to get a serious recording of it..

Blue! Nobody is reading all that crap! Sorry bro! its just too much!  I really like how you played all the characters! the layering is awesome.  Having said that...  There is alot of "air" on the track.  Surely with all your experience you can clean up these recordings?  Great though! Everything i hear of yours has great potential!
