Paint Your Target (Acu)

Paint Your Target (Acoustic)

This song was wrote a while ago.

Here's an acoustic version.

Lyrics:

You hide it everytime you miss,
Impatience waits around for me,
You dance under the question mark,
Without even trying.

I'm just not sure it's gonna work,
I'm just not sure it's gonna work.

You can burn it all,
Rally around the table if you want to,
Just to argue out the last scenes of us,
You can end it all,
I'm sorry enough to tell you that I'm okay and I'm never gonna see you again

The killers walking amongst us,
Look around they'll find your ashes,
You cradle over your mistakes,
And every heart you'll ever break

I'm just not sure it's gonna work,
I'm just not sure it's gonna work.

You can burn it all,
Rally around the table if you want to,
Just to argue out the last scenes of us,
You can end it all,
I'm sorry enough to tell you that I'm okay and I'm never gonna see you again

You stumble through questions that you could never answer,
The barrel is loaded so go and paint your target [x2]

You can burn it all,
Rally around the table if you want to,
Just to argue out the last scenes of us,
You can end it all,
I'm sorry enough to tell you that I'm okay

Great sound
Very nice recording...well played and all that! I do like your 'regular' voice a lot more than your higher voice, which I find a little too something or other...it doesn't feel natural enough for me I guess. Is the bass panned a bit too much...it starts to overload my one ear after a bit...

Anyhow...some thoughts...

Hey thanks for the comments!

Did you notice that there were actually 2 guitars and 2 vocalists?

But you are right, each singer changes pitch as well, so in all 4 different sounding voices.

BTW I played the lead guitar, and I sing the line "Impatience waits around for me" (the second lines) and "I'm just not sure it's gonna work", and the chours starting with "You can burn it all", so you can see my vocal range

Welcome to the Amp!

I have to agree with Jeff on the vox...they sound pretty good in the lower register...but the falsettos are weak - but it sounds like it might be cause by breathing and projection (which can always be worked on!  )

Overall I like the song construction, the lyrics.. I found the backwards instrument at the beginning went on just a tad too long - it might be more effective if shortened to half its length - and if you came back to it in another part of the song (maybe near the end?).

Have fun on the amp!

like I said in the pro recording
This is my favorite of the two versions....  although I do agree that the high vocals sound like your straining a bit, it's still so raw, and real... sounds really cool...

Again, Welcome, and can't wait to hear more...

I love the lyrics! Dare I say this hits close to home. I dunno, I am no great singer, however, have you thougt of trying the entire song without the falsettos? Just me, I think it would sound really cool. Love the song!!!

A few wobbly bits on the vocals - but a great sounding piece all the same. Well played and recorded.
Did you write this too?  The construction is and arrangement is excellent.
I'm with JimK here in that I prefer this too your kick-ass rock version.

Parts of the vocals are a bit "over the top" for me should better be sung by a female voice. Recording of the guitars is great. Intro and bass coming in is perfect. And.... you need a better soundcard. There is a big hissing in one or more of your tracks. But I like the musical idea, the melody line and the "all over" mood. Good that you published this version.

yeah, those vocals are "not all there" to put it nicely,

but the song sounds nice, nicely mixed, nice mood, (that's three times nice), but the vocals ruin a lot for my personal listening experience.

So, me no gonna download, but I'm voting almost "warm". I like the spacy intro sound best.

Stay low
Stay alive,
Seriously you sound really good low.
But high up there just isn't good.
Kinda like whining.
Kind of annoying.
I love the lower part though.
That's good.
