yeah this is a good song. It has a catchy melody and nice vocal hook. The mix is not bad. I'm with you ,take it and listen to it in several different players........ check it out and see what it needs. I hear some things I would change but then that would be a mix for my taste and not yours.
The vocals are good.. I gotta go with spoon on the vocals in spots..... could be a little crisper, but it still is pretty good. You know if your not recording in a pro studio, and don't have that kinda of equipment, and know how, it is hard to get a pro sound out of the recordings. I mean gear don't make the ear.......but there is a big difference from a Amek console and a Behringer 100.00 mixer. I think you have done a fine job on this song.

It's not a song for man in my age but I would love to read the lyrics.
And if there is nothing against it I would like to encourage my son to play this song in his band.

I thnk it was Steve Albini syndrome in the studio, the "hey it's a vintage mike, everything sounds warmer snigger, yahdyah, you'd believe anything I told you snigger". The more I listen to it, the flatter the vocals sound to me.
