Serpent Riddle Queen
*
This is the placeholder for a new MP3 player

This song is not in a battle

Archive material: old skool PX on a 4 track versus drum machine

This ditty from 1996 did see a fair share of turntable time at the ole goth clubs..... Thought I'd share it with you, it's one of my more interesting lyrics I think...

Anyway posting the lyrics aswell because I am aware that the vocals are somewhat buried in the mix... Well, if you turn the volume up real loud, which one is supposed to you kinda will understand why that is...

So, hope you can enjoy, looking forward to comments etc

she wears a face in every mirror
spreads her scent through every sky
she answers questions never thought of
teaches why there ain't no "why"

her sacred will remains unbroken
as her name remains unspoken
covers candles with the glass
pierces straight through every mask

she's the serpent riddle queen
she's the goddess no-one sees
bends the future in her greed
feeds the suffer, spills the need

she's the angel fallen high
welcomes all to her goodbye
as she'll follow, she will lead
burns the books when shadows meet

to her door the lovers lineup
but she knows the borderline
as rivers flow towards their source
she's been broken many times
she calls the day and cuts the night
came shattered in from every side
harvest love to carry on
turns the moon, and takes the sun

she's the serpent riddle queen
she's the goddess no-one sees
highest good is highest speed
the empress of make belief

as her waves are slow decay
she who hunts, the rest all prey
a little closer, fade away
time has come to rape the day...

bits of silver, bits of gold
a set of cards that they may fold
a last embrace, a final ride
they were buried out of sight

pinch my ears and sting my eyes
find a truth within her lies
burn in heaven, fall from skies
who can understand her cries

she's the serpent riddle queen
she's the goddess, no one sees
to I might find that all is well
as she summoned up my hell

the churches ring their dying bell
break the mirrors of her spell
a little closer, fade away
time has come to rape the day...

This is pretty cool.Makes me feel like a kid listening to my older brothers cool music that I shouldnt be into.Great work.I'm glad the vocals were back in the mix it set a very relaxing mood and allowed the music to chant to me.Oh and I don't know why but I keep getting a Cure vibe from this.

alrite, thanks jim and CotN... Cure feeling you say? I guess so, I wasn't into The Cure that much by that day (didn't possess any of their albums), though the person it was aimed at always claimed to be the biggest Cure fan there ever was... A real interesting young lady back then. A shame to see her aimless living leading nowhere... But hey that was her choice. Things could have been so different, so much brighter. But who am I.

oooh yeeaahhh!
I really like this..can see why it would get play at the goth clubs (now where did I put my black lipstick?)

The lyrics are very good - and I like the vox - but yes, they need to be a little bit louder...I think for something of this length, I might like to hear some really big explosion of sorts (maybe around the 2:30 mark)... maybe kick into a double beat or something?

Wicked tune...

Great quality on this one Puppet!

The throbbing beat of the bass is excellent;
drums are superb;
good bit of guitar work;
vocals are about right I think, as you're using them as another instrument (and not singing a love song!!)

Interesting lyrics!

Good stuff - I enjoyed listening.

I wish I'da heard this last night, it sounds like the mood I was in... lol.

Using my ol' laptop while the family PCs internet isn't working, I can actually hear stuff on this one! Woo!

like the very warm yet lively sound of the mix

solo melody is nice too!

all and all nice atmosphere again, your the master of  moody sphere's
