Ahw...wish you hadn't taken down the original, I vote higher if there is considerable difference
Well done, very nice mellow song with some punch. Probably due to Puppet's drum work, he's great, ain't he.
Nice vocals and harmonies, everything is well mixed and production sounds great. I think a touch, just a touch of reverb in the main vocal would add some depth, but that's my only critique. Excellent!

Well, I felt like having the original on the site made it seem like I had more songs here than I do (plus, I took my first posting down coz it was not particularly good!  I may re-post that once it's re-recorded and the structure's changed, but the original of Chances won't go back up.
Thanks for the comments about the song everyone.  This is a great way to learn about recording and song structure!

Another vote...
I think this is a great job of playing/recording. PX did an outstanding job getting the drums to build on the song and make it more of what it is. The harmonies startled me a bit at first, but I got over that quickly. This is really good stuff, keep it coming!

Your recordings are great and so is the mix.Are you doing everything in here?
Good vox too!
The bridge is nice.
Good space before the solo the only thing is that i find your voice a bit suppressed and the key background a little to loud or full not sure which
Gets good Vote

Thanks for the comments Marino, yes it's all me except the drums which are were added by PuppetXeno.  I'm still not too good at the drum programming malarky but it's getting there!

As far as the overall effects on this - well, my excuse is that I'd only been recording digitally for about 2 months when this track was made, and was learning (as I still am) about compression and post recording production.  Now that I listen to it again, I agree that there's some dynamic range missing in the vocal recording, and the keys (double tracked from fruity loops if I remember) don't quite sound right in the mix.

We live and learn, we live and learn.
