Thanks for those comments guys. I have to say, I'm a little baffled by the music theory comments as I don't really know any formal theory - if I actually knew what I was doing it may have come out different (or may not even have come out at all!).

Yup, that's a whole different type of music theory. Greatly misunderstood and deeply underappreciated by a lot (luckily not all!) of people who fare by the more conventional one!
