Still there
Unfortunately, the site was down or frozen for a few days. Even logging in failed with errors..

Fortunately, battlecat was nearby and helped me reestablish contact with the server operators. So I've now regained access to the Bandamp server and the source code in the background.

Unfortunately, the system that Bandamp runs on has expired, so new programming will only be possible and useful once the system is completely upgraded. This upgrade step may take some time. It depends on the availability of the system administrators.

It is also necessary to implement security measures and many other things.

I can't promise that I can implement everything that's on my to-do list. But I don't want to give up this site, of which I've been a member for almost 20 years now.

Unfortunately, many valuable and highly valued members have left us and are now on the sites of "paid" fellow campaigners. With a little goodwill and encouragement, we can work together to revive the old days.
I'm counting on all of you. Spread the word that Bandamp is far from obsolete.

Well done TK! I was hoping something good was going to happen with the AMP, you have made a good start.
The Battle was I think one of the best features, it brought some talented gifted musicians here on the site. Listening to them now is still a wonderful experience. If you could get that going and perhaps remove the amount of votes you need to be entered, it may start the AMP to get recognised again and busy.

I personally have stopped making music for around ten years now, well for now at least. I'll let nature takes it's course, that's how I generally flow. However, I still like going on the AMP and listening to new stuff.

I wonder if creating a mailing list to all members a news letter every month or so would help?

Keep up the good work!!

I was feeling nostalgic and thought I'd check, but I didn't expect the site to still be going. I'm glad to hear that it might still have a future. It was a great community back in the day.

Good to see things are running here, and they might be running longer!
Had a great time on this site thanks to all the people here who were listening, reviewing and making music themselves. Thanks all for that!
I had no real inspiration to make complete songs the past years, but kept on 'noodling'.
But never thought to upload those little works anymore, i mostly enjoyed starting them but not finishing them.
There's so much great music around these days, everybody seems to make the most beautiful sounds and songs that it seems impossible to compete with that.

I Even joined a coverband and got tired of that after 5 years of playing Saturday nights for drunk people.
Then i found some people te make original music together again, and had some good 5 years but we lost it in covid time, even though i build a little studio in an old office room and we made a demo and all. We did one gig and then split.

Then i started with learning the drums in that studio and i jam with my guitar and all my vst's on that. Every now and then some people join to jam a bit and have a chat and some beer.

Hope i get to do that until my time comes.
Hope you all will too.

I am glad you shared your story on BandAmp.

Can you imagine to make a drum track for my "Tides are rising"? Well, I tried, but couldn't find a proper rhythm. Maybe someone like you have a rough idea? Don't hurry. I'm an old man these days

So good to hear from you, Max! I am also a bit challenged musically these days although the intention to renew my internal musical motivation is there (translation: I still want to create music and upload to Bandamp. I fantasize about a day when we all share what we shared nearly twenty years (!) ago). You have been much more musically involved than I within the past couple decades.

Battlecat! So good to hear your still on it! Your musicianship should be heard on here!
I Like that idea of all coming together to share what we've got 20 years later!

Tritonkeyboarder: I should have worked out someting for you now but I am compromized. I fell of the stairs and  bruized everything I've got, so it will take some time to get on my feet again.

I'll be back!

Take your time. Oh I know: some things never get finished. But it's good to always have a goal.
So get well soon!!!
