HHEELLLLPP!!!!!
Can someone
tell me why  when I download a vst  from a disc they
are automaticaly labled as Audacity and can not
be opened with audacity I have them in the
right folder and all but they still do not
show up and when I go into canabite lite and
try to select these as a program they just dont
show up, period. Its like there not even there
YET I go in and check so they are stored
my hosts are just not recognizing them......
If anyone Knows how to fix this and get these 2
programs to work or knows a good FREE VST host I can
download and that can run on windows 98 I would be
so thankfull

Yes, I would say the same, Cubase, an early version because of the 98,

What exactly do you mean by vst ?
Because a simple  'vst plug-in' is a DLL and needs no installation, just put it in the 'right' folder, so the fact that Audacity is set to open .dll files is odd!!!

ok well im either totally missing something
or im just totally friggin stupid!!! I mean
really If anyone would be great enough to give
me some kind of tutorial and lable it all ever so
clearly that would be great becouse im just
retarded i cant find anything and i have atleast
35 vst's of some sort (that sounds like a form
of std's) and cant use a single 1!!!!!! im really
friggin ticked MAP was kind enough to shoot me
some free stuff and instructions and it still wont
do anything. I refuse to pay for anything... But
the reason im using my laptop is because I really
dont want to give ANYONE (except for ampers)
access to my music... I dunno i just dont think
my family would be supportive and what not.....
and I thought i could use my laptop thats retarded
to protect myself from critisism... but maybe just
mybe I need to man up and just DO IT! you know
if they dont like my music then SCREW OFF so....
I duno..... I deffinitely want to get it on my laptop
if possible... and if someone could shoot me
a link or 2 that would have FL6 and Audacity compatible
drum and piano vsti's that would be great!!(ofcourse they
need to be free)

For starters, BACKUP ALL YOUR WORK, somehow! Zip it, Burn it, Copy it to another hard drive...Just backup your work. Laptops can be stolen, or crash!!!
Being 'secretive' about your music sounds odd to me, I'd sooner think that a 'this is what I do' would be enough!
So you have a load of vst plugins? I take it some must be self installed and others are just 'place in vst-plugins folder'? which is/should be C:/Program Files/vst Plugins
Your host program will see them all or you will have to point it to them, as with FL.
Or are you having some other difficulty?
Sorry, you do not have access to post...
