Good question!
Does 'weight' have to have something to do with it?
Like Led, Rock, Heavy, Soft, Stone, Feather !!??

The problem with 'Led Zeppelin' is that its Shamanistic in it's construct, not only is it a Yin and Yang is is also an inward journey and an outward journey in one movement, it's like a tongue twister that twists something other than your tongue!!
Any way you'd have to be so ferociously stoned (as Lemmy put it) or so completely destined to be the worlds most amazing rock band, just to come up with something like Led Zep.

Can it have colours in it?
Pink Plum   ?
Blue Banana   ?
Too soft ( and squidgy! )

Your probably looking for something like 'Stone Roses', But it's been done!

I actually think that 'jimmypage666' is an excellent name for a new band,
I do think bands should start sounding like 'handles', it's more 'personal', and we do 'understand' it these days!

So no more corny constructs like 'Heavy Heart' or 'Thorn',
go for something totally obscure, like   'Umbilical William'

Stonefeather ?  huh..... I kinda  liked that one Kings.  Corny but has a cool sound to it.  or....... Featherstone
hmm I think that name was used on the flintstones.

how about    D2OH2O   (heavy water/light water)  I know....... not good lol

The CloudMoutain Band    huh? huh? waddya think ...no     lol

inho I feel that a band has to find there own name and not think too much about what other bands are called.

I always like this one The All Star Hoot Owl Chicken Picken Band.

When we gig, we always change our name.  My singer's nickname is Shoob and so we've called ourselves "Shoob the Boob and the Three Nipples".  It's completely random, but hey, it works.

Or something like Animal Crackers.  Elephant Tranquilizer.  Murder For Money (I just watched the godfather again).

Originality
Look my friends and I had the same
problem every good name was already
taken and we couldn't agree on 1. So
I went to looking every Idea I had was
shot down and every idea that someone
else had we all shot down so... We
decided that other people couldn't help
us with the name, that the name had to
be an outward reflection of who we are
and the music we play.... so what I'm saying
is just think about it write down ideas
you'll get it sooner or later and
you'll like the name better if its your
bands own creation!!!!! (just a thought)

the juxtaposition of two words that dont really go together is and has been popular for a long time. take the arctic monkeys ; you dont find monkeys in the arctic. velvet revolver (guns and roses), with the soft and hard thing ; similair to the stone roses.
It probably wouldnt be too hard to find two words that dont normally go together but sounds good phonetically, but for the sake of originallity you should maybe step off the 'bandwagon' and go for something more unexpected (but catchy so people remember it) ( dont have numbers in your name though, too many people are doing that now, and imo it gives the name a specific meaning that people wont get unless you tell them... which you dont want to be doing for the rest of your musical career).
If i could think of a good name that fulfills this then id probs use it for my own band....

Hi,

I know your post was a while ago but you might find my site interesting...  We have many names suitable for use as band names.  It's worth remembering the importance of having the .com domain name that matches your band name because when you become famous you don't want to have to pay squillions of $ to acquire it.
