question...
when a tab says

5p3p2p0h2

i know you're sliding, and i can do it up to the point where it says 0 cause I'm not sure how you slide to 0 or what the difference is between 'p' and 'h'...

thanks

not sliding but p stands for pull or pull off..  you would pull off  from the 5 (probably pinky) to 3 (middle finger) to 2 (index) then pull off to the open string, then hammer on (H) to the 2nd fret (index finger).   hope this helps.
if it was a slide it would have either the sign for slide or a S .

hammer or hammer on
instead of picking the note as you put your finger down on the string you . put your finger on the string in such a manner as to not need picking to make a sound.. in other words,  you have to press your fingers onto the fretboard, quick enough, and hard enough to produce decent sound.

if you watch this video you will see after he first goes thru it, and says add some flash, he will hammer on the 7th fret, and pull off (goes faster than the picked notes) back to the 5th fret He doesn't pick each note when he does this.

Yeah i did..... that video just came to mind when you mentioned what hammering was.. i didn't know what that technique was called

edit: so if it says, like for with arms wide open by creed,

   |--------------------------------------|
   |--0h1---------1---------1h4----1------|
   |-------0--------0---------------------|
   |---------2----------------------------|
   |--3--------3-------3---3-----3--------|
   |--------------------------------------|

you'd hammer the first fret after picking it? after trying it its pretty hard.. i guess its the kind of thing once you practice long enough your fingers get strong enough to pull it off?

and if it says p0 how do you pull off without making the sound go away?

sorry so many questions..

Yes.. Strike the string open, then hammer first fret...  as for pulling off to open without killing the sound, as you pull off, pull your finger down a bit, so as to almost pluck the string, this will take a bit of practice.. but isn't too hard once you get it..
