i think he's using the Hawaiian tuning or open D tuning . which i like but i think my favorite for blues stuff is
E-2,B-2,E-3,G#-3,B-3,E-4, Daune Allman used this quite often. I also like the open g tuning for some stuff.  I'm working up a slide lead for the Lover's Withdrawel song.  I'm still rusty since it's been a couple of years since I have done much slide playing.  I reset the bridge on my Japanese   strat for slide playing so hopefully I can get something polished and recorded in the next week or 2.
