lol!

I would want to congratulate you, but I think you made a mistake. myspace gets paid more than you do? what a ripoff! does that site even provide you with UPC / ISRC codes? try this link here: www.tunecore.com

members pulling back their work because they went "commercial" has happened before. I see this as a bad sign and generally, a bad idea. By turning your virtual back to bandamp, you are not exactly encouraging anyone here to actually go there and buy your music. You've had your songs for public download on here, first... And if I want to know what you sound like NOW, I'd check the songs you have on here first and conclude that you're not producing "real" songs... (these are your own words)... maybe time to rethink your strategy?

WillyDavidK : "I had to pull a lot of my songs off bandamp for obvious reasons."

I don't understand the obvious!

Are you selling the actual songs you used to have up on bandAmp?

Have you re-recorded the songs you had on bandAmp, but now 'legally' have to take the 'copy's' off bandAmp?

Or have you made completely new songs but you have to take any other of your 'songs' out of the free public domain because 'mySpace' now own your soul?

I would seriously like to know because I've read some good advice here on band amp about this subject of song writers rights (most of it by PX, thank dude) but there is still a lot of inside-outs that I'd like to understand.

I don't get it.
If you want people to know you and your songs you need to get the songs out there. This is another venue that works. There are alot of people click into this site. If it was me I wouldn't worry to much about alot of people not buying your songs because there on here.I would post some of your best stuff on  here use it as advertisement to your "store" and sell songs that you either have not written or have not posted yet. If alot of the people that check out this website just here your lesser stuff it's not going to want to make them go to any link you have posted to buy or even check out your songs.

Self promotion is the big thing and to do that you gotta give up some stuff. When labels take on a band they take a chance that the songs will sell, they pay to put the songs out on the open airways hoping that enough people will like it, to go buy enough Cd's to make their money back. If you have a recording device hooked up to a radio you can record the songs for free. They know that but still with the "promotion" they sell enough Cd's to make it worthwhile.

i would think you'd want to put a couple of your best songs on here to help with the sells and attract people to your other site.

just me thinking though I could be wrong( I often am)
