A few of us thought it would be nice to hear from our resident journalist, MeowMachine, So i did the honors:
MAP: Hi Meow
MeowMachine: Heyas Mr.MAP,how are you?
MAP: Im great!
MeowMachine: Good good.
MAP: So, We've been seeing your great work on the Amp doing interviews with all the great musicians here and we thought it was high time to hear from you..
MeowMachine: Well I'm sure this was all bound to happen sooner or later,so I say,the sooner the better!
MAP: So to start, You are relatively new to the Amp, what brought you here?
MeowMachine: To be honest,the drawings!LoL I saw the artwork around and I said,"This is pretty cool!"Then bumped into "Shoot Me" by JBP and I got hooked.
MAP: Nice, you've become somewhat of a major presence on the Amp lately and have gone along ways towards contributing. What made you think of the whole interview thing?
MeowMachine: Well I didn't think of it obviously. But I saw that someone was interested in starting the interviews again so I thought,hey this would be pretty cool, so here I am now!
MAP: Well, I think its a really great service you are providing for us Ampers. I want to say thank you from all of us.
MeowMachine: Thanks and thanks to all the people who read and to all whom I have interviewed. :]
MAP: So, I also happen to know that you are very interested in creating your own music in time. How is that going?
MeowMachine: Actually pretty good. Me and my friend Jeremy are DJ's and I'm actually working on a track now. But I do a little of this a little of that...But as soon I as I get FL(IF I get FL)then I should be on a roll! Despite all of this trouble I am going through on this process, no singing for me.
MAP: Any idea on what kind of music you will be bringing us when you get to it?
MeowMachine: Hmm..I love techno so I would enjoy doing that, but I guess my real calling is classical, maybe opera? LoL, But if it's music, I'll do it; rock, jazz, blues, techno, anything.
MAP: Sounds like you've got an interesting future here, musically. I noticed that you've released some things in the lyrics forum... what is your influence when it comes to writing lyrics?
MeowMachine: Hmm...that's tough...I hate to write about myself so I just look around me and find one person and write about it. I have a bunch of others I have yet to post,but some of them are about me(Trials of Age) and I am actually inspired by my own writings.
MAP: I see, and when it comes to music itself, what are your major influences there?
MeowMachine: Hmm..My friends, some of the bands I listen to, most of the ampers actually.Just everywhere I guess you could say.
MAP: You mentioned JBP at the top of the interview, are there any other Ampers or songs from Ampers that jump out at you as favorites?
MeowMachine: Who doesn't jump out at me?! You[MindsAtPlay], Marino, avi, JBP,swordfish, Blueyes, alittlepaperdoll, ViciousKitty, yokoinc, FLYER, god, just about everyone on the AMP!
MAP: Awesome, you have alot of big brothers and sisters here ready for you to join in the music making! Anyone in particular you look forward to collabing with?
MeowMachine: Well I'm working on a couple now, but,right now, I want to just get better at things then I'll worry a bit more about collabing.
MAP: I see... So in your previous interviews you've asked about changes to the Amp. What are some of the things you would like to see in the future for the Amp?
MeowMachine: Well an interview section would be great! And I like the idea of someone reviewing so many songs before they can post one of their own. The whole video idea is good,too. But right now I want to thank Downchuck for his great job :] But yeah,the list could go on.
MAP: Who do you look up to the most?
MeowMachine: I would have to say my mom. Sounds cheesy but she's the one who brought music into my life. She's always sung to me and I remember her always singing "Amazing Grace". Plus the AMP always seems to encourage anyone to do their best at anything they are doing, no matter what it is. Which I am grateful for and I think is great!
MAP: And finally, What is one thing that no one at the Amp knows about you?
MeowMachine: For as long as I remember I've always wanted to sing opera! Craziest thing I know, but I've always been entranced by it. But I can't sing,so I think I'll just stick to playing opera :]
