I had to put my fingers on the guitar strings yesterday, and after a few strums I noticed my cat, Takara, was acting a little funny, jumping around when I hit the low notes.  I decided to record a little bit as she got confused over the source of the noise...

The great thing about this video is that it illustrates this poor kitty's process of comprehension - at first she thinks the sound is coming out of the floor - then you "train" her that the sound is coming from the mouse. She then gets totally weirded out by the whole process and simply wants to leave the room (but very cautiously). Beautiful! But it also makes me think about the cat. I wonder (just out of curiosity) if she is having trouble with sound localization - (the ability to detect the source of a sound, possibly due to odd acoustics in the apartment, a neurological problem or even impaired hearing - perhaps deafness in one ear - in order to effectively "sound locate" you have to have two working ears....hoooboy, too serious! Maybe I'll just take yet another look....)

Either that, or she's just really dumb.  Stupidity is bliss.  .. or however that's supposed to go.

The toy was brand new, so she was still a bit cautious around it, trying to make sure it wasn't dangerous   she was actually batting at the toy previous to my noticing her, which was why I threw it over to her again once I got the camera turned on.  I'm not sure why she went after the floor there at the beginning, though. That was pretty weird.

Got a new burst of traffic today, as it got posted on one of those "I am bored" websites.  Now that there are ads on the YouTube page for it, I'm actually making a bit money from my cat.  *dream come true*
