New used bass recontruction |
I got this used bass from a relative for a few bucks. The only problem is that the wiring is completely messed up.
Here there are some pics of its actual status.
I wanna fix it by myself so if any of you know show to, or has any wiring diagram for this kind of bass then that would help me a lot. Tried to find the diagram on the web but had no luck.
It's an Azalea "Premium Edition" bass. It actually sounds really good unplugged.

Don't know if this link would help?

This is wiring of a fender Jazz, guessing at the pics you posted, they are identical

This last one looks pretty close to what it should be. I'll try it and see how it works.
Thank you, Denis.
BTW, how did you find it? I looked it up on Google and had no luck.

Hope it works, I've also sent toastedgoat an email, he's pretty good at this sort thing, has re-wired many guitars
The pots look very messy, personally I'd clean off all the old solder, check the pick-up wires are connected.
If you get no joy from a pro, you could completely strip the wiring and just follow the a wiring diagram of a bass which has the same set-up, in theory it should work.
Alternatively, you could get a price from a pro Luther, it may not cost as much as you think.
I had some electrical work done on one of my guitars recently, it came to £30.00, if you have any spare cash, you may need to consider it..
I'm sure toastedgoat will read my message I sent him recently to help you out, If he can't find a solution, I'd doubt anyone else on the AMP will have the know how.
Or you could join a bass forum.
I did a search on your guitar and the only thing that came up was this specialist guitar maker called Everett Guitars, but I think it's coincidence.
If you could find out the make of the pic-ups, you should be able to get help from the manufacturer.
Good luck

I fixed it.
Thank you Denis for the help.
I'll try to upload something (as soon as I solder the wires) so you can check how it sounds. I'm really liking it a lot. I prefer this over and active Ibanez SDGR from my friend.
