ok Friday I leave for the beach with my buddie and his parents
(who by the way are the SICKEST people i know)
EPIC! and we are taking our guitars..
prolly gonna hit the boardwalk around late afternoon
and play!!!
so i was wondering... Busking is an art...
just like any other art there is a sense of "perfection"
what describes the "perfect" busk...
and how do you obtain such heavenly skills?
lol
obviously we dont care about money...
but I'm putting some like 20$ whorth of ones
in my case just to look like we are making some cash! lol
ok so my questions boil down to

a) What Makes the "perfect" busk?
            &
b) What songs would you play?

these are just some... we tried to pick some asthetically pleasing songs
we dont know what kindof audience we will have so....
i guess our basis of thought is to hit EVERYWHERE at once!! lol

we might do a version of Coyote Shivers "SugarHigh" from the movie Empire Records

but please let me know what you guys think!!

theres probably gonna be lots of "older" ones and lots of "younger" ones so play classics like pink floyd, eagles, johnny cash, and then play some new stuff that people will like.

Hm. When I see people busking, I really enjoy it when they're really into their music and get people to get into to it,too.
Most people just walk by, but you really want to stop and listen, and hopefully, to enjoy the music.

Also, play a lot of songs people know
i.e.
Stuff from the Beatles
Old Mainstream Pop
Maybe even a few kid songs for when the little ones come by.
They eat the stuff up.

I did some busking here in Australia while an Easter festival and must say it was pretty fun. The thing is after 3 hours singing my voice was almost dying so I had to stop, but anyway made like $100 so it worth it.
Just play classics; my repertory, as far as I remember was (in case you need it to get some ideas):
- Something; Come together; Lucy in the skies with diamonds / The Beatles
- Imagine; Stand by me; Working class hero / John Lennon
- Under Pressure; Crazy little thing called love / Queen
- Hotel California / Eagles
- What's up / 4 Non Blonds
I don't remember the rest, but there you have some ideas.
The essential is to enjoy it and look as if you are enjoying it, so people feel good staring at you. Maybe use some nice outfit; when I did it I  wore John Lennon glasses and a chilean shirt.
Anyway, just have fun doing it, and if get any money, even better!
