The muting and then the chords.. the switch is just brilliant..

Just place your left hand fingers, assuming you are right handed over all the strings with the right amount of pressure to mute the sound, or am I missunderstanding your question?

Everything takes practice, perfect practice. Find what suites your style best, depending on what chords your playing, easier on bar chords. You'll get there!!
