Cubase Question : No Mixer Channels |
I've recently installed FM8 , Pro53 and Cubase SX2 (I cant get an SX3 to work!!!) , I've worked for years with FM7, Pro52 and Cubase 5 , whether or not my problem has something to do with the 'newer' programs, I dont know.
My problem is that I keep on getting an alert window in Cubase stating that there are "No more Mixer channels!" and the vst plugin I try to open doesn't.
I've never had this problem before.
This is a call just to see if this is familiar to someone and whether or not there is a solution to it available ..... before I start uninstalling and making google searches.

OK so I'm impatient.......lol
I made a Google search and came up with the answer in this thread http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-24006.html.
If you're having this same problem uninstall any REWIRE client software from your system.....I had installed Reason along with the other programs and apparently Reason 'claims' all your mixer channels even when it's not running.
Other REWIRE clients are FL, AcidPro , ReBirth, MadTracker and more

Yea cheers guys, I was talking to my self again !!
I know this is not a common problem but it is a problem especially if you dont have an answer.
As we all know 'the answers are all out there' , this answer just happens to be here now.
I was trying to inspire my self by installing new and old programs, this is what happened.
I also installed AcidPro which is also a REWIRE Client, but it is a newer program and hasn't caused any grief,
though try as I do to get into it and use it, because I could, I find my self always wanting to start up Cubase at some point , what a wonderful program Cubase is!
I believe Reason has been discontinued anyway.
