A question for my American Friends
Especially if your a carpenter.....

I'm looking to buy a De Walt power tool set, it's being offered over here , in the official De Walt mag, for 1700 euros, my normal tool supplier says he cant make it any cheaper, I already find this cheap considering it's an 'introduction offer' for the new De Walt Nano Li-ion technology batteries.
The set consist of 8 machines 4 batteries and a charger.......the link : http://www.gerritse.nl/Gereedschappen/Accugereedschap/Accumachines_overig/A10042/accu-set_8-kit_in_Li-on_18v_/

But the link above, that I was shown to by a colleague, is offering the same set for 1300 euros !!!!! Now I'm totally interested, so I phone the shop and yes it's not only true but I can pick a set up tomorrow.
He admitted that other shop were 'angry' at them for making such an unchallengeable offer.
And if I open an account with them tonight on-line I can have another 4% off and a deal for me to pay next year, a tax thing concerning the amount a company investments per year.

So.. my question is....have you ever heard of De Walt Nano Li-ion technology batteries ????
If you have, have you (heard) a 'judgement' of their performance? Because they've been out on the US market for the last 2 years and have only just been introduced into the European market.

So.....someone out there might know !!

I know this is a music site ..... but I don't hang out at American carpenters sites  , maybe I should, but I dont...yet!

I have heard much about Dewalt's legendary reliability and good service, but I have never owned any of them. Also, I can't seem to find the exact set over here that you have there, even though I have found a couple 9-piece Dewalt sets (they don't seem to have the exact same array of tools, even though they share some of the same tools). I have included some examples below so you can see what is available and related pricing.

First off, Dewalt's (America) menu of available items
http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/tool_detail_listing.asp?categoryID=699

Then, an e-bay example of lowest possible price

Then, an online merchant's example of pricing:

and for a little discussion of the Li-on batteries:

Wow! Loads of links!

Now! THATS why I hang about at bandAmp !!!

Cheers battlecat.. they will be visited.

I'm not really into buying my tools off e-bay, I have a company that should invest for the tax benefits, and you never really know where second hand tools really come from.

I should have thought of making a search for the Nano batteries, I wasn't that far yet, I came home saw JimKs new wagon and thought......yea!

@The K : Phone your Uncle and ask him which ones he's got, how long he's had em for and what does he think of them ?
Sorry, you do not have access to post...
