I still slighly down tune the b string, it is a happy medium - I play mainly acoustic

After setup my cheap Harley Benton (90 Euros incl a little amp) it has a well tempered tune. 
Believe it or not. I plugged this guitar into a Fender Amp and it sounds definately like a Strat.

a good tune will have a flat bottom E of -3 cents  B is flat to -6 cents (i know you guys have noticed this)  G is -4 cents D is -8 A -10 cents and low E at -12..1/100 of a note..or -12 cents
this is all relative to your individual guitars...but by nature for example your low E will ring sharp especially when played hard...check you tube james taylor
