Amber Shore -- My first attempt at writing...Tips Please
Amber Shore

The road is long for me

It doesn't seem to bend

I drive from town to town

But never reach the end

The rain won't stop

It just keeps pouring

The radio's playing

But the music's boring

Another motel

Another day

More stale coffee

But what the hey

I can't stop thinking of her

She's the only one

And all I ever needed

Was an amber shore

Time goes by so slowly

And my head is filled with her

I read the papers

But I need a different story

I can't turn back I've gone to far

I've gone a million miles or maybe more

I can't stop thinking of her

She's the only one

And all I ever needed

Was an amber shore

I've gotta go back get on the track

The one I know so well

And when I make it

I'll be with her

The one I always wanted

It's very good. Lyrics usually need rewording to fit with music. I'm thinking a F-C(G bass)-G progression on a guitar, light strumming.

F

C

F

F

C                                G

F                                        G

You get the idea. I'll record it sometime if I can, so you can get the idea. Then you can do a proper recording with a guitarist and whatnot. Maybe we can even collab on it. But I'm not promising anything since I don't know when I'll be able to record again. My damn preamp is still dead, and I'm still broke. I hate being without a job.

Hey Zach,

Thanks for that. Hope you can get recording again soon..... Would love to collaborate on it. Would love to get some music going on this. Will try and get someone to play the chords you wrote down for me just to have a listen.

Will speak soon.

Hey Rock,

I started writing something for the lyrics, but I had to change the arrangement a little bit to fit the music is that ok with you?  The words are the same, just arranged a little differently.  Let me know if this is cool with you and I'll get something recorded when I get a chance.

Hey Rob,

I think the arrangement looks perfect. Thank you!

I am really looking forward to hear what it sounds like, I must learn to play the guitar!

I have been thinking about trying to write a song for quite a while and then thought I'd put pen to paper. I think it's great that we're able to collaborate on these things from such distances.

Looking forward to it,

Rock

hey Rock
Ok, I came up with a little something myself.. that might not need much lyrical rearranging, and should be pretty good for your voice.. If not, let me know, I can change the key pretty easily..  but, right now, it's in the key of C, and is 123 BPM, so let me know what you think.. You can find it at:

Download it, and give it a shot... I will try to help in any way I can..

Rock,

Here's the full song.  It still needs some work but it's a start...

It was fun!  Let me know what you think good or bad.

Thanks,
