Gather the ravens |
Some mythological fantasy!
I'd read a lot about strange mythological people and times, I had to work it out somehow :
Gather the ravens
Gather the ravens
Upon the holy ground
Among the groves and standing stones
Gather...around
Hark the hawk
The Eagles come
Run run
The evening sun
Merciless masses
No love suffice
No deed surpasses
Run run
Stand and die
On holy ground
They come, swell, surge
To the mutterings of an evil word
Gather the ravens
Gather the ravens
See the eyes of god
Hear the ears of god
As they run as they come
The voice of god is nowhere to be heard
On an island
On an island
In a sea
In a sea
On a wave........
Come
We must face the sun
Come
Out of the cave
Discard your treasures in the lake
Desperate fair folk what can they take?
Into the moors the morass the mist
There is nothing more than this
Men bleed, flesh torn
Those left behind to grieve
With nothing to morn
For there is nothing more
To fight for
But the freedom with which we're born
The blood the snow
The raven knows
The echos of their battle cries
Today a hero died
Upon these killing fields
Where normally
The cattle graze
It will never feel the same
The ravens will always
Convey the pain
Gather the ravens
Gather the ravens
Dusk approaches
You can feel it in the air
Gather the ravens
Gather the ravens
The night nears
Prepare
The womb is warm
We must take flight
To guide the children
Of the light
Gather the ravens.....tonight!

O! There's nothing like having a dark side, you know!
Thanks for vote, wow I could enter it in the battle!
You know the score, if you hear this fitting some thing of your own just make the link.
These are really 'old' ones I put up just to see, but I can obviously appreciate it if someone gets off on them, old or not they are still 'something'!

Awesome! Although you never quite get around to telling us why we are gathering the ravens? Loved it!

Minds,
"Although you never quite get around to telling us why we are gathering the ravens?"
Yes I do ! It's all the way through it.
Anyway this is the key : Ravens are meant to be the 'eyes and ears' of the god (old god), probably where 'The Wicked Witch of the South' and 'Saruman' get their ravens from!! A classic tale of Christian Twisting.

Somehow, I think they're associated with death. All the more reason to gather them .
Whenever ravens are mentioned I can't help but think of the scene in Matrix Reloaded where Neo's just seen the oracle, and Agent Smith walks towards him in slow mo and all these ravens around him just fly out away from him. Just thought you might like to know that.
Love this lyric, although I had no melody to go from, I couldn't help making up something random to flow with it. Very dark and evil, gothic cult religious, kicks ass.
Wicked kings.
