Hey... I've been working on three songs lately. I'll be half way through a song and then I'll have inspiration for another half a song. So I've got bits and pieces here, each with kick-ass riffs and a strong acoustic beat. Maybe I could get a little inspiration from here, feel free to pitch ideas.

A Minor Euphoria

I'm buckled from this ever growing weight,
But I won't accept my fate,
I'm all alone, I'm so depressed,
But I'll always try my best,
Don't hold me back, don't hold me down,
Or I'll be here to watch you drown,
I'm fighting now, I'm fighting still,
Push the limit of my skill

Chorus:
I'm drowning now, thanks to eu-phor-i-a
I'm falling down, drunk with eu-phor-i-a
I'm safe and sound, here I rest upon the ground,
I will go without a sound, with a minor euphoria,

My adolescence is growing thin,
I came outside can't get back in,
I stole away, without regret,
Now I doubt I will forget,
And I lay here broken, like the porcelain,
I cannot be this whole again,
With my soul in shatters, and this lonely song,
Sometimes it's hard to say you're wrong,

Chorus


I'd like another verse and maybe a bridge, but it's probably best for me to figure out the bridge on my own, due to melody etc.

Northern Lights
Chorus:
I am, over, you,
Bitter and confused,
With the northern lights,
I'm not, falling behind the times,
Follow the northern lines,
show the life I have ahead,
The northern lights,

This brilliant sky, this northern light,
Will wake me up to see the night,
To be alone right over here,
And set things right I'm over you,

Chorus

Enchanting world, tragic to lose,
Consuming light, and not the booze,
This pain you feel is all for her,
You bleed the forest of the earth,


Same with this one, a bridge and extra verse.

Crop Circles (not completely set on this title)
Chorus:
I'm not human race,
Spinning through time and space,
I have no sense of time,
I'm lost inside this place,

Verse:
I sense, no time and place,
I have, no sense of race,
I can't, judge by your face,
I break, I can't replace,

Break:
I'm just, circles in the dirt,
I'm only trying to get back home,
You won't leave me alone.


This one could use another 2 verses maybe, however, I'm not sure I'm completely pleased with the 1 verse I have now. it seems built from the chorus. However, that's the phrasing I'm looking for.


Any ideas are quite welcome, a general direction you'd like to see these go or small changes, or an outline of phrasing etc... All welcome

WB, you know my edits, the rest were some ideas I jotted down a few nights ago and seamed to have the same gist!

I don't see it in the Northern Lights! And I like "A Minor Euphoria" but I have no suggestions for it, I do like :

Northern Lights lyrics. These were the hardest for me to come up with, it was mainly from the riff that I got the idea, so it's kind of focused on the instrumentation (like the other 2) but I will try to work it more, and see where it goes.

Crop Circle lyrics. I'll probably work with a few of your ideas, model it around the music. But the chorus has that "I'm not human race" to kind of give it a more 'otherworldly' sense. Also, I might add a "the" in there to make more sense.

As for "A Minor Euphoria", glad you like where it's going, I might work on it a bit more, see where it goes. It does have some nice instrumentation and diminished chords in it, which was taken from a short bass riff I had in "piano therapy", which, in turn brought about the main rhythm of Northern lights (4/4 123,123,12 interrupted triplets feeling to it).

Ok, last night I was swamped by words and I've completed Crop Circles and A Minor Euphoria. I'll post a new thread for them as a finalised copy. Hmm... maybe there should be separate forums for finished works and works in progress. Anyways, I took a couple of ideas to touch up and tidy my words. I ditched the verse I put up here, and added to the bridge (worked the "footprint into it), and put the "mountain high" into the verse, but reworked to fit the music. I added a bridge to A Minor Euphoria, and a verse, so, I'll post them now.
