Sunshine of Your Smile

I sit here by my window, I watch the clouds go by.

I wonder what you're doing today..

It''s lonesome here without you, as I sit alone and cry..

I wonder how the world is treating you.

(chorus)
As my days go on before me I feel so all alone..

I long to see the sunshine of your smile.

And as my heart is breaking, I know I can't go on.

Without the Hope of seeing you a while.

I see your face before me, it haunts me everyday.

I wonder if you're happy to be free..

and if you're really satisfied, complete in everyway.

Or do you ever stop and think of me.

(chorus2)
I spend my nights in silent prayers, That you'll come back to me,

And I will see the sunshine of your smile.

But as my heart is breaking, I know I can't go on,

Without the hopes of seeing you a while..

(sixteen bar solo)
(repeat first  verse and  2nd chorus then fade with first chorus)

Nice. Simple yet beautiful imagery. I could see this making a nice song.
However, I don't like the fade out at the end. One of the first things I learned about music, don't finish a song with a "fade out with chorus" a definite ending would be much preferred.

But, nice lyrics, good imagery, I like it.

Mornin Bro
Well Morning WB..
Thanks for the imput.. yea, that is the one place I truely have problems.... choosing a good "Extro" (ending) for my songs.. hell I have been known to do the triplets ending.... ya know the "cha cha cha" ending like everyone does at the end of blue bayou...... oh and the emphesis on extro there wasn't for you... it in fact is for a couple of other guys that has been recently been discussing that exact thing....  but was struggling for the right word... So your timing was so perfect to give me the chance to share that with them... But I couldn't leave you hanging wondering what I was doing bro....  back to the cha cha cha extro.. have used those lil canned endings dozens of times when I was unsure of what to do!! (lol)   quote "hey ray, how we getting out of here?"  ray sawyer - dr hook "why out the back door baby!"  (giggles)

Blessings and thanks again!!!

The end of a song is pretty much the same as the beginning, except the chords stop and don't start!

Anyway, I really like this song, simple, true, to the point, soft, kind that beautiful side of male emotion!
Your another with lyrics but no songs posted, so whats the crack jack(Dan)? Got any songs?

I am a prefectionist.. so I won't put any of the garbage versions I did of them, online.. ya know the little ge cassette recorder wiith built in condensor mic??  those are mainly just to not forget the tunes.. I own some very nice (tho some older) peices of multi-media equip... I am tryin to find some help getting it all set up.. well just set in place would be enough... massive outboard midi and analog audio.. which through a pc interface for midi and for audio, I plan to take anything I do in there and then give it the final n.l.e. mixdown.... burn it and then add any photo or video I may shoot on it.. but for now, I am content with just getting other's opinions on the lyrics.

blessings,

Dan

Have you posted a question about setting up you equipment in the 'forums' here? PX and toastedgoat, to name but two, can give you some very good advice, if you explain what you have and how you want it!

re:'s
TG and FX are so kewl too....  I have
chatted goat a little bit.. I honestly
think the world of him. value his
input and opinions.. Just like I am
starting to appreciate yours too..
Yea, was about half hearted asking.
but the reason I hesitate to ask with
a lot of conviction is because I need
physical help putting things into place.
buiding tears - lil shelves to be able to
tear a few things I just can't stack..
there are a few questions I have about
the actual setting up part.. cuz I have
picked up a few outboard components
like two patch bays.. and a couple of
effects. have had to drop two of my
rack mount unites since they aren't
working anymore... a good rack
digitech multi-effects unit that had
a real kewl delay.. so I am sorta
to a point that I am rethinking the
studio setup right now.. but it's not
just a one afternoon type thing..
it will run into a couple of days
work..  because of my physical
condition, I am unable to do
the heavy lifting and placement
of things... just a little very lite
lifitng when I am able to get
out of the chair and stand long
enough...
kinda bums me out a little
when I really stop and think
about it.. I would have had
it all done in the first or second
week we got in this house had
I been capable.. ofw I digress...

blessings,

Dan

Sounds like you got a lot of stuff to organise over there!
As for physical help, I really wish I could help, as for technical questions then I might be able to help after all :

I'm a carpenter you see so, so I can advise you on your shelves at least !!
It does sound very exciting, having all that gear ready to set-up.
